Yay !!!!! Tony Blair's no longer Prime Minister !!!
>>By Tchock
Flagg I sent you an email and I was notified that it was undeliverable. Pls check the address.
>>By lv2read
Nope, I think the address is fine, maybe you mistook undesirable for undeliverable?
>>By planet ear
Not exactly to the day, but close enough. We must praise lv2read for his determination - 365 days later & he's still not concede a point !!!!
Happy Birthday Jack Board.
We should have balloons & cake.
(On a déjà un clown ;)

Many exasperated returns.
l2r, my email address is absolutely definitely:
amb_uk@yahoo.co.uk
And I'm still serious about getting in touch in ten years' time.
If anyone feels like taking the board in an existential direction, I'm reading The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. Tchock, you'd love it. Actually 'love' is much, much too week a word.

What was I thinking?
>>By Flagg
The system has turned a Deaf Ear to your emai; address...Flagg. Perhaps eberyone is against you...if you rely on Tchock and Ear for feedback you've got many frustrating days ahead. Simply, clearly, authoritatively...youe email address doesn't make it.....here. Can you process this info?
>>By lv2read
Yes I can, but my email address is still amb_uk@yahoo.co.uk. Technology's inherent unreliability has scuppered our plan, no call for hostility.
Anything else to say? Or is the board dead again?
>>By Flagg
Jack's dead baby, Jack's dead.

Your new PM was well received here...another great friend of the USA.
>>By lv2read
I don't really have an opinion of him. He hasn't done much yet.
>>By Flagg
Gordon Brown I think is one of those iceberg personalities.... but I have an optimism about him... of course it might have a lot to do with him being Scottish.... us Scots have always made an impact on the world...
But as Flagg has said, he hasn't really done much.... although I think cancelling the plan on the super casinos was a great move.... I think he's testing the water right now - he's not an elected-by-the-masses leader, so he's playing it carefully to get into another term in office.... but after Tony Blair.... "Things can only get better...." ;) (the 1997 theme tune to the Labour party was that song....)
However, the thing about having a seperate government from England means that any changes made down THERE, don't really affect us unless our government also pass it.... which is one of the few good things if David Cameron ever gets into power.....
As to "another great friend of the USA".... hmmm.... I tend to think the USA is one of those countries you have to get on with if you don't want any hassle with trade problems & invasions.... but then again, it really does depend on if you''ve got politicians, or businessmen, in power.

Tchock/Flagg Isn't the PM charged with maintaining a robust economy? In a land where so many are on the dole, I believe optimism about the future and continued confidence in your capitalistic base is pretty importanct. Alignment with America....don't you mean 'your most important soul mate? Are ALL young people in the UK totally ignorant of the entrenched positions of the US/UK on the world stage???? And that ain't changing anytime soon!!!
>>By lv2read
The PM is charged with lots of things.
I hope Gordon Brown has enough continued confidence in Britain's capitalist base to make up for my lack of it.
>>By Flagg
Flagg Can you think of any reason WHY an email from hotmail would not be deliverable to your account? without rancor, or Deaf Ear chiming in, can you point out what I may or may not be doing incorrectly when I attempt to contact you...
>>By lv2read
No, I have no idea. It's never happened before. But it doesn't surprise me because virtually every form of computer technology is, in my experience, very unreliable.
>>By Flagg
Ear Much to the dismay of liberals, steady progress is being made in Iraq. Am sure that you're happy with this news. Or.....can you think of a downside to this? My bet is that you can.
>>By lv2read
Lame, L. Just lame. Use your imagination.
>>By Flagg
You're out of your league, Flagg. What is lamer is your childish schoolboy disdain for things that don't unravel in the manney in which you expect.
>>By lv2read
Flagg??
>>By lv2read
What I meant is that you're just repeating yourself, saying things you've said a thousand times before. It should be obvious even to you that you're not going to change anyone's views like that, so why do you bother? Could it be you're just doing it for the sheer hell of it?
And what the hell does manney mean?
>>By Flagg
Hotmail/msn - half the time with me it used to fail to send anything. Perhaps - but maybe you've tried this - let Flagg email you, then it should be able to reply.
And would you call pulling the troops out of Basra because they can't control it a great leap towards democracy? And for that matter what if the Iraqis vote in someone the Americans don't like.... are you going to stick around till they've found the US-approved candidate?
Democracy is one of these niggling things you can't fight for with guns.
>>By Tchock
Tchock Some parameters here. The Iraquis may elect anyone PROVIDED that leader does not play host to Al Quaida....whether they desire to or not. in view of opinion polls there it is highly unlikely that they want to take that step backwards. Your PM has a similar view to mine (or I have a seimlar view to his)The Americans and the Brits have only so much patience with the Iraqi leaders.
>>By lv2read
Yes, but the world's not split into Americans & Al Quada is it ? Iraqi people could vote in someone who may not want to cooperate in say.... privatising the oil industry in Iraq.... I'm sure the troops would stay firmly on the desert ground if that were the case.
And pray tell, oh knowledgable-one-on-Gordon-Brown, what is old Gordie's view on the situation? I doubt you had heard of him until he gained office !!!
>>By Tchock
And you are knowledgeable of President Bush?
Am curious about Pres Bush'es stock in London if the city sustained a blow such as NY did on 9/11. I believe we'd see the death of Pacifism in the UK. Hmmmmmmmmm.
>>By lv2read
Please, please, please, please, please. Bush's. You only need an extra E in a plural. In a possessive you just need an apostrophe. You never need an apostrophe and an extra E in the same word. It totally undermines our trust in YOUR knowledge of your president when you can't spell his name.
Well we didn't exactly see the death of pacifism in the U.S. after 9/11 did we? Hmmmmmmmm.
And yes, we are probably more knowledgeable of of Bush than you are of Gordon Brown because Bush has been in office much longer and is much higher profile.
>>By Flagg
Flagg Hpw dp ypu pronounce Bush's? (look in the mirror, try it and tell me how it sounds to you)
Al Quaida is working to end pacifism in England. You might ask Scotland Yard....... You might respect Bush a lot more if the unthinkable happens.
Are you as concerned with content as the punctuation?
>>By lv2read
If you like to spell words phonetically because you haven't grasped basic grammar just tell me, I won't think you're dumb. Sorry, I mean dum. I imagine silent letters are a problem for you.
>You might respect Bush a lot more if the unthinkable happens.
I won't. And the unthinkable has happened here, on a smaller scale than 9/11. Remember? Or did it pass you by?
I've become sort of numb to the content of your posts here.
>>By Flagg
You are numb to those that disagree with you.
If even 10% of the Crown were as hostile towards American policy as you and Tchock, the f4ree world would be in a lot of trouble. Do any of your friends have a road map for neutralizing Al Quaida/Iran and t6he other 'good guys?.'
And one more pearl from the kid......stop supporting Israel, you think? That is stupid.....now to bed without dinner.
>>By lv2read
Well actually, I have gone to bed without dinner.

Well, we'll soon have some idea of how British people think of American foreign policy... have just submitted a poll - yet to be published, but will hopefully be functioning by the time you get this:

Life, apparently, is not a Hollywood blockbuster in which there is only good guys & bad guys. What children tend to outgrow with adolesence, you have failed. Difference of opinion does not spawn favour for the "bad guy"... it merely decorates life with a nice bland shade of grey.
I believe there was a little thing on the news a few weeks ago concerning a landrover packed with explosives crashing into Glasgow Airport .... ??? Two unexploding carbombs in London.... ?? We haven't yet invaded anyone new, nor do the opinion polls suggest that we are any more inclined to do so.
