Lv2read, what happened here is that a few people, used to hanging out with their smug friends who agree with everything they say and consider calling George W. Bush an "asshat" the height of witty political discourse, found someone who wanted to actually debate a few points.
When you ask for specifics, they can only reply with what went over well at the coffee house last Friday.
When you talk about the economy and jobs, they imagine they'll be famous musicians one day, "above" the working man.
And when you talk about a real military threat from Iran, they show their true colours---anti-Semitism is cool in some quarters, and these people would love to see Israel wiped off the face of the Earth.
Many black activists in the U.S. are publicly anti-Jewish and to some liberals that's A-O.K.
When a Persian is anti-Jewish, that's even better for the crowd you're dealing with.
This discussion thread became a bunch of anti-semite, pro-Arab appeasers versus you.
I hope it gets revived because while I disagree with much if not most of what you say, I can see that you've been assaulted for the most part by people with the mentality of teenagers and the morals of the Gestapo.

Leg-pulling aside, as I've already said it's rather pointless discussing Israel/Middle East with ppl who either can't differentiate between anti-semitism and having reservations about Zionism as enacted in recent history, or with ppl who use that lame accusation to bluff there way out of a hole they can't defend through coherent argument.
With the arguable exception of Biam, I can't recall anyone taking an anti-semitic position on this board. Give me a specific post (date and time please) if there is one.....

Planet Ear, I have neither the time nor the inclination to single out specific posts, and at any rate it's unnecessary. Supporting or even tolerating the Iranian regime amounts to anti-Semitism, period, regardless of one's motives for thinking that way.
I realize that neither you nor anyone here is an actual anti-Semite, and that fact makes it all the more frustrating when I hear sympathy for those who would wipe the Jews off the face of the earth.
If a Jew came on here supporting a radical Zionist agenda that included exterminating Muslims, I'd be the first to call him or her a deranged idiot as well.
I think some people here might learn a lot by vacationing in Israel, and then vacationing in Iran. Make sure and party and try to get laid in both nations...and talk politics! The Iranians love dissenting views.
