>>By Lynn   (Saturday, 7 Jun 2003 22:10)

are his books any good?

i have found sombody to play kelly in CF i think she is perfect Daveigh Chase

>>By christina   (Saturday, 7 Jun 2003 22:26)

Oh, his books. I thought you we're looking again for someone to do your exams.

Daveigh Chase - brilliant Chis !!! Very good found.

I want to suggest Paul Walker for Nick. He's almost 30 so
perhaps a bit young but since it probably will take years before they'll start filming - he might be the right age then..
Or some make-up can do the trick...

>>By Lynn   (Saturday, 7 Jun 2003 23:09)

i think she is perfect for kelly!
just have to say paul walker is sooooooooooo good looking.
do you reckon he would do my exams?
so has anybody read jonny two combs books? any recomendations

>>By christina   (Saturday, 7 Jun 2003 23:52)

does anybody know if "CRISIS FOUR" is in production yet? - if so, how far down the line is it?

>>By ShadowRaptor   (Sunday, 8 Jun 2003 17:22)

Hi All,
I'm not normally a person who reads a great deal. So when I do read something it has to grip me from the outset.

I find that Andy Mcnabb suceeds in doing this in every book of his, both Fact and Fiction. To be honest I was a bit sceptical of his Fiction books before I had read one, due to the fact that I had read SAS books by "normal" everyday authors and found them to be lacking.

But I must admit that Andy did not have this problem one bit, I found his Fiction books to be just as realistic as his Fact based books. I find that this in itself is the best selling point about his books, lets hope that he keeps em coming.

>>By christina   (Sunday, 8 Jun 2003 20:21)

Sorry, Christina, I haven't read any of Johnny 'TC' Howard's books yet, but he seems to be popular with readers of SAS-genre, so why not go for it? Curious -- which of his books are you considering?

>>By am-i-binned   (Sunday, 8 Jun 2003 21:14)

Welcome, ShadowRaptor....

On the previous page (pg 36), Sheba quotes a news item from October 2001:
"Miramax denies reports that it is in production on Crisis Four, an adaptation of a novel in which Osama bin Laden attempts to assassinate the president by staging an attack on the White House. Miramax purchased the rights soon after former elite Brit operative Andy McNab published it in 1999."
As far as I know, there haven't been any other more recent new reports so it may be that production has been suspended indefinitely.

Welcome, Ste....

Nice to see you here! You said on alt.books that you're reading Firewall right now and have read most of AM's books -- which haven't you read yet? Also, did you get a chance yet to check out the Dean Francis site I mentioned to you? (www.dean-francis.co.uk)

>>By am-i-binned   (Sunday, 8 Jun 2003 21:34)

i dont know which book to buy thats why i was asking!?

>>By christina   (Sunday, 8 Jun 2003 22:04)

Christina, have you tried reading through the customer reviews of JTCH's books? Might help you decide... (www.amazon.co.uk)

>>By am-i-binned   (Sunday, 8 Jun 2003 22:12)

For anyone interested in the SAS: watch Ultimate Force, an ITV action-drama set in the SP wing of the Regiment. Ross Kemp stars and Chris Ryan co-produced so it has the realism and all the Ryan trademarks. Great show, and series 2 is on the way soon.
Has anybody seen it before?

>>By ShadowRaptor   (Sunday, 8 Jun 2003 22:18)

no ive never seen it because i never new what it was like or about but i might watch it now!

Ok AIB your scaring me ive just been on amazon to read them and i just signed on to tell you i wasnt going to bother because they dont seem very good then i read your post 'spooky'

>>By christina   (Sunday, 8 Jun 2003 22:25)

>>By christina   (Sunday, 8 Jun 2003 22:46)

Hi Shadow Raptor, (Top Name by the way!)

RE: Ultimate Force - did you know that Chris Ryan not only co-wrote and co-produced - but also co-starred with Kemp? (He was leader of Red Troop) If you missed him, he had an argument in one of the opening scenes with Ross Kemp in the first episode because Blue Troop (under Kemps command) had blown the killing house to buggary and there was nothing left for Red Troop to use!

An exact date hasn't been released by ITV1 yet, but expect to see the new series around July/August time.

We'll just have to tease the non-Brits here as it hasn't been sold to the US or Holland yet! (Sorry Lynn?AIB)

I mentioned on an earlier page a couple of things regarding UF, but I can't remember which page and haven't got time to check! AIB is usually tops with this kind of info and maybe able to help ;-)

>>By Sheba   (Monday, 9 Jun 2003 09:45)

Christina

Haven't read Johnny TC, but I found one of his books in a market a while back and read the opening few pages. (Can't remember what it was called) It was written from the third person view point so read somewhat different to AM, and the fact I didn't buy it tells you how riveting I found it.....however, that's only my personal opinion so let us all know if you read one, it might be cracking once you get into it.

>>By Sheba   (Monday, 9 Jun 2003 09:48)

ShadowRaptor, I think you'll find most of the Ultimate Force conversations are on pgs 23 and 24...

And you do know you're cruel, don't you, Sheba? It's not nice to taunt NTSC-impaired people just because you're PAL-privileged!

>>By am-i-binned   (Monday, 9 Jun 2003 12:56)

Thanks for that UF info, Sheba.

July or August... well that's good news - I can't wait.
Maybe we'll even see a UF series one DVD soon? ; )

By the way, Ryan played Johnny Bell who was the leader of BLUE troop. Henno's gang were Red Troop.

Also, I am a non-Brit! We get ITV in Dublin too. They repeated UF on an Irish channel aswell, and I taped them!

>>By ShadowRaptor   (Monday, 9 Jun 2003 13:43)

Nice one ShadowRaptor, thanks for sorting my blues 'n' reds!

I agree, can't wait for the DVD if and when it comes out. (perhaps we can all chip in and send AIB a PAL player/TV to watch it on ;-) )

Dublin eh? That has got to be one of my all time fave places - the hospitality is second to none and I can never remember the night before when I'm there!

In fact I can pinpoint the start of my drinking problem to a night out in Shooters watching the football! (for those that don't know, my drinking problem is simple - two hands one mouth - real problem!)
