My favourite character is Sarah, I think. She's intelligent and strong. And I have a weakness for dark-haired women.

>>By Alice   (Tuesday, 3 Jun 2003 00:08)

Sorry Christina, my job is stilled classified and I can not explain who Jacko is.

>>By Jacko   (Tuesday, 3 Jun 2003 05:35)

Jacko,

wish you were on that Qantas flight the other day. I felt sorry for the air steward. I've seen the level of training they get on "dealing with violent passengers" and all I can say is I'm glad it all worked out the way it did = happy ending.
For all those that are out of this fine land of Australia, we had a guy armed with wooden stakes try to storm a cockpit of a domestic airliner the other day. Luckily the air steward managed to subdue him after copping a few good hits to the back of the head. "Damn lucky" springs to mind.

take care, speak soon

HoHoHooo, I'm back.
Did all my exams , really satisfied of myself. I even took a 30 for gastroenterology (that's 30/30)
Yesterday I was on the beach offcourse just taking some sun and fun.
Hey how about Jim Caverziel (I think that's the name) playing Nick in AM 's books, he's got AM's blue eyes allright...I saw him yesterday with J.Lo on the telly in the film Angel's eyes.( a bit boaring there, what a huge bum she has how can people say she has the most beautifull behind in the whole world she's only 1m50 yek.
What did I miss these days. Get me informed,

>>By boris   (Tuesday, 3 Jun 2003 13:44)

Congrats and welcome back, Boris...

No probs on what you missed -- pgs 32-->.... ;o)

>>By am-i-binned   (Tuesday, 3 Jun 2003 14:17)

Boris, lots of women here, so careful with what you say about the ' behinds', it could be a sensitive subject.
And with your gastroenterology clients you should especially
careful - don't embarrass them even more.
But I'm glad you did fine with the exams.

Jim Caviezel.. mm, possible. He seems to be very religious I've read - doesn't want to do love scenes without clothes on.

Jacko, hi ! Stilled classified, is that a typo or a term I don't know. Would you please explain?

>>By Lynn   (Tuesday, 3 Jun 2003 15:47)

Congrats Boris, pour yourself a beer and chill...

Paul R: Damn right! Did you see that steward's face? Geez, I hope her employers give her plenty of time off for some serious R & R.

I've mentioned this before, but I'm almost to the end of Sabre Squadron by Cameron Spence. I think I said in a previous post that it was a bit slow at the start, but boy, does it get going or what?!! I'd highly reccomend it to you guys. I know Scouse has read it (you're not THE scouse in the book are you? ;-) ) Anyway, I doubt if we'll hear from 'our scouse' tonight, England are playing Serbia later and Michael Owen is captain so I think he'll be busy with the footie!
That said, 4 hours to kick-off so I'm heading to the pub to get a good seat, ta-ta.

>>By Sheba   (Tuesday, 3 Jun 2003 16:22)

yep im watchin the footie too. can't miss micheal owen people

hi boris congtats on your exams but now you have to tell me your revison technique my exams start on friday and i still dont know anything and i could see JC as nick in a way.

sorry jacko!

how does j lo get away with having a big arse if anybody else has a big arse it just looks stupid!?

thanx sheba i might read that book after exams but at the mo im reading war junkie by jon steele anyone read it?

>>By christina   (Tuesday, 3 Jun 2003 17:37)

Christina, well my technique really is to study hard, I study especially in the morning, take some guarana pills don't drink coffee (wich I hate), don't smoke and in to bed early.
I also study speaking out loud so my dogs just hear everything I say and then they just nod if it's ok or not.

Anyway just read that if I read LD from AM I don't have to read all the otherones, so what do you people suggest. Can I go straight on reading LD so then I can read some other stuff about Sas action or whatsoever. Any you people from Hereford, I can't remember if I've been there 'cause once my dad took me to Wales (he's from stoke-on-trent, and was in the irish guards, I think)and I can't remeber if we passed through there or not. So we went trout fishing it was really great.I must have been about 11.
Anyone knows for real this man AM, and how he got to marry 5 times. I thought that after 3 one would have had enough, what about just living together, that's much more simpler and costs even less in divorce fees, etc...

>>By boris   (Tuesday, 3 Jun 2003 20:07)

Hi again, Boris...

Re: Liberation Day

Whoever told you or however you got the impression that if you read Liberation Day you can skip all of AM's other/previous books -- that's totally, totally wrong! -- and not at all what we've been saying here. AM's books are absolutely best when read in publication order, starting with nonfiction (bios) first. If you don't know the order, just post and there'll be more than enough of us to answer you....

Oh, and regarding AM's 5 marriages vs. living together? AM's been there, done that, too....

>>By am-i-binned   (Tuesday, 3 Jun 2003 20:45)

thanx boris for the revision tips i just sat there and read it never thought of reading out loud. but i suppose i couldn't do that in the libiray though people could get annoyed with me reading my french, pyshics and biology out loud. dont you think?

you SHOULD read all the books how dare you not want to read all of them i mean where are you? you are on an AM page if you just read Ld you wont know what is going on i made the mistake of reading them in this order because i couldn't get hold of the first books:

bravo two zero
firewall
last light
immediate action
remote control
crisis four
liberation day

as you can see not in the right order it really confused me!

>>By christina   (Tuesday, 3 Jun 2003 21:02)

So give me the exact order, I've read immediate action, and remote control. I prefered the non fiction one better than RM, wich I thought was only good at the end. I'm ready for any suggestion, What about CR? Is he any good?

and just for my ears, how many women did he have, except the marriages, how does he do it, any idea, tips? What do women see in him anyway? Woops ladies easy on...I'm better, faster and...

>>By boris   (Tuesday, 3 Jun 2003 21:03)

Sorry didn't mean to be rude especially towards AM.

Does anybody know if Tactical Response is the company he's the director of.

>>By boris   (Tuesday, 3 Jun 2003 21:05)

i thought you people might just want to know the exact order ok im just soo bored i mean studying isn't that exciting

ive never read CR but i own one of his books tenth man down i think it is but ive never had time to read it i will get round to it eventually but it looks good though

>>By christina   (Tuesday, 3 Jun 2003 21:12)

the exact order is: (i think!)

bravo two zero
Immediate Action
Remote Control
Crisis Four
Firewall
Last Light
Liberation Day

>>By christina   (Tuesday, 3 Jun 2003 21:23)

war junkie is good by jon steele

>>By christina   (Tuesday, 3 Jun 2003 21:57)

Christina - DON'T DO IT!!! Tenth Man Down is by far and away the worst CR book - ever!!!

Read Stand-by, Stand-by, followed by Kremlin Device (his best book in my opinion), then read TMD.
To quote Apollo Creed in Rocky IV: "You may not understand now, but you will when it's over. You will when it's over."

And Boris, please don't read LB or anything else 'till you've read RC, CF, FW and LL. They are written in a specific order and you won't appreciate LD properly without them. (In my opinion LD is pretty weak anyway so it's even more important you read the lot!)

PS England won 2-1, I'm drunk and life is good...

>>By Sheba   (Wednesday, 4 Jun 2003 00:12)

Hmmm.....

Here's an little article which might be of interest to several here for various personal reasons.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/arts/2956860.stm

It also includes the statement: "Nobody would think to criticise books aimed primarily at men, such as Andy McNab." -- so I think it's safe to assume Ms. Kate Mosse, Orange Prize co-founder and honorary director, doesn't know about us yet.... ;o)

>>By am-i-binned   (Wednesday, 4 Jun 2003 06:42)

Classified as in Top secret, Secret, ect.

>>By Jacko   (Wednesday, 4 Jun 2003 08:54)

Erm, I was just wondering if anybody could tell me what sort of helicopter dropped andy mcnab into the gulf in bravo two zero... Been having a discussion about it, and I don't have a copy to hand.
Thanks

>>By L   (Wednesday, 4 Jun 2003 12:25)

Hello L,
Erm is not here right now, but I think the answer you want is: Chinook... (although I don't really recall B20 saying anything about Andy taking a dip in the Gulf... vbg, vbw!)...

>>By am-i-binned   (Wednesday, 4 Jun 2003 12:48)

Hey nobody has answered me yet, about Tactical response, so is AM the director or not?
And ehm to am-i-binned could it be you sort of know AM, it seems you know a lot about him. If so let us know... any gossip?!
I have to loose 5 kg in a month, do you think that is possible?
What should I do? It's too hot to run outside now, and I've only eaten a salad, maybe I should buy CR's book about how to get fit? What do you folks think?

>>By boris   (Wednesday, 4 Jun 2003 13:49)

Hi Boris...

Now you've got to know some of the answers to your questions already, right?

Tactical Response: If I told you, I'd have to kill you.

Gossip about AM: I cannot answer that question.

Loose 5kg in a month: Do summer Selection.

CR's book on getting fit: Are you going to eat the book? High fiber but not very nutritional.

AIB knowing AM: Don't I wish....

VBG! VBW!

>>By am-i-binned   (Wednesday, 4 Jun 2003 14:18)

Boris, 5kg in a month - that's quite a mission! What do you need to lose it for? If its short term loss your after, you can't beat the cabbage diet (details out there in www land) WARNING though, you may smell a bit if you know what I mean ;-) Hospitals in the UK use it to get patients weight down in a hurry before an operation. You couldn't keep it up longer than a couple of weeks though.

If you wanna keep it off, you have to change your lifestyle permanently, simply eat 3 meals a day, ensure each meal contains less than 4g fat per 100g and snack on fruit 'n' veg. Combine this with cardiovascular excersie for 45 minutes 3-4 times a week and bobs your uncle! And cut down on alcohol (the hardest part for me!) the body cannot break the calories down in alcohol like other foods and stores them...

OK, I'm going into boring mode now, but hey you asked (knew my sports & nutrition training would come in useful one day!) NEVER skip breakfast! It is so called because it BREAKS your body's FAST from when you're asleep. A cereal with some fruit, or wholemeal toast with low-fat spread - or better still - low sugar jam with no spread, starts off your body's metabolism again. And did you know that the energy you use in munching a stick of celerey actually burns more calories than what is in the stick itself? So if you don't mind celerey, I'd reccomend eating loads of it if you want to lose weight! And cut down on alcohol (the hardest part for me!) the body cannot break the calories down in alcohol like other foods and stores them...

Finally, depending on the type of and how much excercise you do, you might want to increase your carb intake. For short bursts of excercise, eat something high in sugar low in fat. For longer runs etc. you'll want slow release energy foods like pasta, potatoes etc.

OK, boring stuff done now, I'm off to Brecon to give that pen-y-bloody-fan a good caning...Boris, let us know how you get on

>>By Sheba   (Wednesday, 4 Jun 2003 15:18)

Hmmm, Sheba...

Think I see what you mean about the alcohol being a problem -- especially considering it has a tendency to repeat on you!

SLAP!

Ouch! Sorry, just couldn't resist....

>>By am-i-binned   (Wednesday, 4 Jun 2003 15:35)

tell me about it sheba wot a good match

ok so i wont read TMD! so anybody want a copy of tenth man down by chris ryan ill swop you for say a singed copy of an AM book!?!?!?!?!?

Thanx for the info on how to lose weight but fortunatly i am already doing all that except for the celerey which was horrible but now sounds really nice.

Whats with repeating things are you going low on the alcohol? because it didn't sound like it yesterday with the im drunk and life is good!

p.s yep a slap over here too AIB sorry sheba

>>By christina   (Wednesday, 4 Jun 2003 18:43)

thanx AIB im off to look for Kate Mosse! we have a few things to discuss! you coming?
