"Former SAS soldier and best-selling author Chris Ryan features in Hunting Chris Ryan, which finds him abandoned in three of the world's most hostile environments as Special Forces soldiers try to track him down."
Hmmm... let's see.... substitute CR with AM, SF with F Troop, hostile environments with virtual... LOL!!!! :oD
And then there's the "bambi" aspect!
Sorry, but the more I think about this the funnier it gets! ROFLMHO!!!!

Hi everyone
Does anybody think that nick and carries relationship will continue or does anybody think that something will happen to her as it says on the amozon synopsis: But soon Stone finds himself facing an unspeakable trade-off involving the life of someone he loves. Does anybody have any ideas as to who this person he loves could be, kelly maybe
>>By christina (Saturday, 2 Aug 2003 15:28)
Hi, Christina....
Good question. I think there might also be a chance that Luz could be included (assuming Luz and Carrie would be together), and more remotely, Josh and his family (assuming Kelly would still be living with Josh). With NYC being one of the threatened cities, and depending on the "distribution" method, I'm guessing that would be central enough to present a threat to either or both the New England and Wash., DC areas...
>>By am-i-binned (Saturday, 2 Aug 2003 15:49)
Or, supposing Kelly has gone back to school in England or is visiting with her grandparents (the Browns)... What if Nick can only stop the one city -- either NYC or London...
>>By am-i-binned (Saturday, 2 Aug 2003 15:55)
hhhmmmm could be good point never thought about luz.
>>By christina (Saturday, 2 Aug 2003 16:05)
ouch Am-I-Binned, maybe you should add 'advance spoiler warning' to that plot.. It's a great thought.. struggle between protection of the loved ones... who do you choose and to what concequences... Suppose it IS in the book.. then you've got some explaining to do.. :o) Good thing I know you come up with this because you've got a good feeling/interest for Nick Stone stories..
The CR show definitely deserves a sequel replacing the leading character (and hunters..) hahaha.

Cross posting again... to help explain my ref to Hunting Bambi. I apologize, but this really was the first thing that crossed my warped little mind when I read "Hunting Chris Ryan".... LOL! .... And worst of all, even though it's embarrassing, I still think it's funny!.... :oD
'Hunting Bambi' Safari Was a Hoax
"Las Vegas (AP) — A promoter who offered to take men on "Hunting for Bambi" safaris in which they could hunt down naked young women with paintball guns admits that it was a hoax and now faces misdemeanor charges....[and] found himself in the crosshairs of women's groups after he told a Las Vegas TV station that he was selling reservations to men willing to pay $5,000 to $10,000 to hunt down naked women in the desert."

''Good thing I know you come up with this because you've got a good feeling/interest for Nick Stone stories''
No lynn think about she said i worked for transworld secretly (''Christina! Are you actually a shill? Come on, 'fess up -- do you really work for Transworld and are just here to bait us? ((vbg, vbw!))'') but she was just trying to guide you all off course convince you it was me but it was her all along! But it's her she is trying to gather us all up for secret transworld things? in return advance copies of his books. You just put on that hating them act to try and sto us from figuring it out right??

Hi,
I had a link to an interview( you could listen to it with a mediaplayer)with Andy McNab but I lost it. Does anybody have a link like that for me?
Still reading Anthony Swofford's Jarheads. It's quite wild, desparate, but very fascinating. Good book, well written.

http://www.cnn.com /2003/WORLD/meast/04/08/cnna.mcnab/index.html
Link to a CNN interview with Andy McNab in case you haven't read it yet.
>>By Lethe (Sunday, 3 Aug 2003 18:09)
Hi, Lethe....
Thanks for the CNN link. Not sure which interview you're looking for, though. If you can tell me a little more about it, I may have a link for you.
So you're suggesting I add Jarheads to my good-grief-when-do-I-think-I'm-ever-going-to-find-the-time-to-read-this-book list? ;o)
>>By am-i-binned (Sunday, 3 Aug 2003 19:35)
Dawgonnit, Christina! You sussed me out!
>>By am-i-binned (Sunday, 3 Aug 2003 19:36)
Hi aib,
It was an interview about the last Iraq war. He was interviewed together with an American guy.
About Jarheads: Yes :)
>>By Lethe (Sunday, 3 Aug 2003 21:57)
Christ, Christina.. now I have to share my first copy with you..... Don't tell anyone else, ok!
(..whisper...) Well, AIB, now it's all out in the open and we know you work for Transworld.. can I get a job there too?? I'll settle for a real low salary if McNab (signed!) copies are included.
Oh boy, hope noone looses his job for this.. bet they're on a search for an AIB at the office there now... well I know what first question will be when they find one.... Am I Binned????
>>By Lynn (Sunday, 3 Aug 2003 22:41)
Hi guys, I'm back! Just read the last pages and I'm amazed, a very good job. A few things are a bit strange anyway. Brecon Beacons trekking, party with AM, 24 lovers, hunting for Bambi... You're all nuts, and I've been missing you!
Christina: you MUST buy (and read) Without Remorse.
Paul R: you gave us an apéritif, where is the main course? I'm starving. And, if you're still a baby-sitter; I have a very noisy 3-y-old neighbour, could you take care of him? Any method will do. (Gag and handcuffs would be the solution I think.)
>>By alice (Monday, 4 Aug 2003 02:37)
Sorry, Lethe, I definitely know the interview you're talking about, but I cannot find it either! (I remember it clearly because I got annoyed with the US guy for answering before AM could.) I thought I'd saved it but apparently not, and I went through the board pages but couldn't find it there either. Does anyone else remember this interview or have it saved?
>>By am-i-binned (Monday, 4 Aug 2003 11:18)
I still have this link, it;s an interview from April this year so it could be about Iraq but I'm not sure and don't have time to check it out now..nor to check if they still work..
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/news/bh/rams/bh.ram
Another link (but I think it’s about Last Light..)
http://wgnradio.com/shows/ex720/Audio/index.html (scroll down to Last Light)
Swedish Reader is always very good with links to (radio-) interviews… so if you know SR..
Alice.. so nice to see you back. F Troop was definitely missing French flank cover (or however it should be expressed). And you’re orange too… Welcome back on board and we’ll forgive you for calling us nuts.. (but only since we are..)
Take care all,
>>By Lynn (Monday, 4 Aug 2003 12:31)
Bummer! Thanks, Lynn, for the link. I'm afraid though that the interview is lost. I tried that link last night (yes, it did come from Swedish Reader) but because I couldn't find the interview, I though maybe it was the wrong one. The original broadcast aired April 7 (Buddy mentioned hearing the program and then Swedish Reader gave the link, pg 10). I just sent an inquiry to BBC Radio 4 asking if there is a way to access archived interviews or if a transcript is available. I'm not holding a lot of hope for the audio though because there's a note on one of the pages that radio broadcasts are available for 7 days.

And here we are waiting for news on Crisis Four - the movie, .....ran into this: "Speaking candidly in an interview for the Paxman Society he revealed details of his early life and army service as well as his thoughts about the Gulf War campaign. Currently he is busy in Hollywood producing Remote Control, one of his best selling books" LOL !! Don't know when this was placed on the site I ran into.. there's no time stamp... (or it's hidden very well).. but I do hope it's very old !!! VBG !
>>By Lynn (Monday, 4 Aug 2003 20:20)
From what I can find it must have been late 2000 or early 2001.
>>By Lynn (Monday, 4 Aug 2003 20:34)
Bit funny...found this in an interview about B20 - the movie, considering Hollywood is doing his next movies..
"The reason the book was sold to the BBC, as oppossed to an American company or other British TV companies, was that they were the only company that said they were going to keep it true to the book, rather than use it as a vehicle for someone, or corrupt the story for their own ends"
Of course it's based on real events this book, his non-fiction books could be altered for anyone's benefit.. who cares.. (ah.. well... we do... )

Thanks, AIB, Lynn and SW, for your trouble. Well done indeed Lynn. It's better to have posted a lot than never to have posted at all(after Oscar Wilde;) )
