SAS in action is on sale in HMV for 20euro anyone know if its good?
It says it has a McNab interview but is this just the one on the B20 dvd?
>>By ShadowRaptor101 (Saturday, 13 Nov 2004 22:08)
All of these can be found in the AMFT reviews database. The DVD mentioned is very poor. The Special Effects include a rostrum camera panning round a plastic aircraft model, just in case you don't know what one looks like! It is, frankly, a rip-off; don't buy it.

It's an intangible thing, success, although Johnny 2C Howard is involved with the above DVD, and should be ashamed of himself, his book 'Direct Action' is superb, easily as good as anything from McNab, his friend. Difficult to understand why it didn't sell as well. Same goes for John Nichol, another mate of his, the book 'Point of Impact' is also first rate and carries an endorsment from AM but is now out of print, funny old world.

Boat Troop was the last book i read and enjoyed it alot more so than direct action, now reading Blood money.
>>By Psicosis (Monday, 15 Nov 2004 22:05)
Funny that, I thought Direct Action was much better than Boat Troop!

Regarding Ultimate Force 3....
Check out www.rosskempfans.com
theres a pic from it...
only remaining characters are Henno and Louis (the greatest).
But now Red Troop has a woman in it... Becca Gallagher.
Since when do they let women in the Regiment?
She's in full CT garb and everything...

"SAS ace defends trooper "
(....) McNab — who has stared death in the face — said: “It’s easy for people sitting comfortably in their armchairs in front of the TV to take the moral high ground."

I have to agree with Andy there...
how can civilians (like me) even try to understand the stress involved in a situation like that? We cant put ourselves in that soldiers position and say "oh, i wouldn't have done that". The squaddie probly genuinely believed there was a threat to life

Hi Guys This is my first post on this fantastic board!
Like Brian, I saw signed AM books last week in the shops, and had buy a copy just so I had his signature (althou I already own them unsigned!). Also, I loved knowing he'd been in that very shop a couple of days before me (I interogated the guy at the checkout about it!)!!

RE: Talk radio, While flicking through the old digi box last friday i was suprised to see andy mcnab on talk radio, he took over from ian collins for the night and everyone got the chance to phone in and ask Andy questions on everything.... But most where about iraq and it was a great show. i only managed to hear about half hour of ot, because the digi box threw a hissy fit which it does sometimes... But i'm hoping that Andy will be back on talk sport maybe give him the friday night spot, how great would that be.. I was in ottekors book store in pompi, and they had signed copies of his book, didnt get one has i'm hoping that i'll get one for xmas, but i'm not supposed to know because santa will get a bit p%ss*d..... if anyone heard Andy's spot be great to know if he will be doing anymore. Oh and to all my fellow f-troopers hope you all ahve a great holiday season and let me be the first to wish everyone a great xmas.

Andy McNab: The hidden face of war
SAS icon turned top-selling UK thriller writer, Andy McNab talks to Robert Hanks about fighting, writing and anonymity 19 November 2004
"I have a little trouble recognising Andy McNab in the hotel lobby, which is not surprising since on every published photo, either his eyes are covered with a black bar or his face is in deep shadow. It turns out that the eyes are an incongruously innocent pale blue, and they contribute to a rather boyish air. My initial anxiety, that he might find some excuse to kill me with his bare hands, recedes."
(....)
"The day we meet, he is off to TalkSport, Kelvin Mackenzie's mob, for a spot of technical training prior to standing in as presenter of the Friday night phone-in." ;-) Nice article!! You'll find it on: http://enjoyment.independent.co.uk/books /interviews/story.jsp?story=584301
PS: "He has one daughter and four ex-wives; he and his fifth wife divide their time between England and New York." Now that's clear too ;-)

>>By spiketheprovo (Friday, 19 Nov 2004 19:02)

Too bad Andy never wrote about Paris, F-Troop could have come along other wise.
Have fun Tri !!

PS: "He has one daughter and four ex-wives; he and his fifth wife divide their time between England and New York."
Did he only have three ex wives at the end of Immediate action? He does go through them doesn't he.

Much thanks owed to Bikergirl for this excellent "heads up"... albeit frustrating as hell to be stuck on this side of the Atlantic!!!!

Seems official: Chatzy has done a runner. What a coincidence -- they implement a pay-for-services set up, collect their fees, and suddenly go POOF!
(...and, no, I don't think there's any AM-disappearing-website connection! www.greymansland.com is very much alive, well, and thriving!...)
So I'm back to looking for a suitable chatroom venue... Grrrrr!
In the interim, the "chat" feature in AMFT has been activiated, but it has the typical limitations of java-based chats. Most disappointing is that the convos do not accumulate, so there's no way to leave messages/comments for anyone if the room is empty when you log in -- a crappy set up in my opinion, but for now... (sad sigh).... all that I can offer....
