Go to http://www.thisislondon.co.uk and search the site for details
Spread the word and hopefully see you there!
>>By nabby (Wednesday, 19 Nov 2003 14:38)
Thank you, Nabby! We will see you there without a doubt! And you will be...? ;o)
>>By am-i-binned (Wednesday, 19 Nov 2003 15:42)
Try keeping us away Nabby. Don't worry about spreading the word, we hardly do anything else :o)
So you'll be there too tomorrow.. don't fear you'll be the only one ;o)
>>By Lynn (Wednesday, 19 Nov 2003 15:59)
Enjoy tomorrow, chaps, it's your BIG DAY!!!
Will be watching from the sidelines...
Drinks all round for AIB, for my direct e-mail to Transworld fell upon deaf ears I presume...
>>By buddy (Wednesday, 19 Nov 2003 16:01)
Thanks for the head's up, AIB and Nabby. I have just registered as astroboy_usa.
Now, I'm trying to get this time zone thing sorted out. 1:00 p.m. in the UK is 7:00 in the morning here in the US Central time zone, right? Every time I try to schedule something with folks in the UK or on the Continent, I show up an hour too early or, worse, an hour too late!
I'm looking forward to the next installment of the F Troop Chronicles (Days of Our F Troop? Nah, this is no soaper. F Troop Factor? That's got some zing.) Things are getting interesting indeed!
>>By Astroboy (Wednesday, 19 Nov 2003 16:09)
Come now buddy you're being too modest. I would say your direct e-mail knocked at the right door if nabby is anything to go by.
Not a case of e-mail news alert from ThisisLondon, like devious old me and AIB and god knows who else. Some of us just hate being last in the know about anything McNab! Madness to be sure.
I can think of a few good questions to put the Man.
>>By Saxon (Wednesday, 19 Nov 2003 16:21)
Thought I had better let you all know I won't be asking as Saxon. No, that is my artist nic.
>>By Saxon (Wednesday, 19 Nov 2003 16:25)
Better check tracer, Astroboy... UK is five hours ahead of us East Coast-ers, so we need to be in position no later than 7:45am, in direct line of sight of monitors, safety on keyboard off... (oh, and a tip: try to resist checking the spacebar with your thumb, it messes up the cursor's zeroing...) My cover'll be either amibinned or greygirl depending on how tight security is...
>>By am-i-binned (Wednesday, 19 Nov 2003 17:21)
B.A.B.E.S - great work, had me grinning ear to ear.
take care, speak soon
>>By Paul R (Wednesday, 19 Nov 2003 17:24)
Ooops! Sorry, Astroboy, in my excitement, I forgot to give you the calculations for Texas time... that's a big 6:45am, y'all... :o)
>>By am-i-binned (Wednesday, 19 Nov 2003 17:27)
Don't think I'll make it tomorrow, got a huge meeting with some doctors, hopefully all going well. Send some messages to the site hopefully they'll pick out one, I'm signed as Sgt. Titta
>>By borisette (Wednesday, 19 Nov 2003 18:09)
If security at the AM bash is as bad as security at the Palace, even a Slack-Alice will get past the chat scrutineers...
Welcome back PR.
It's time for professionals to step in and sneak old AM out-a-that-their little-varmint's hands (L.BKNBY).
Check AM down with B.A.B.E.S help, and I reckon a few others like Ortlieb will stand look out for smack 'n' grab wenches....
>>By buddy (Wednesday, 19 Nov 2003 20:46)
>>>It'll be nice to know who everyone is.. what's your chat name Deus? I don't think Deusrexmachine was taken.. :o) >>By Lynn (Wednesday, 19 Nov 2003 13:12)
... if all goes well, tomorrow I'll be chatting with the lathe at the workshop!... Sniff!...
Hey, I've forgotten to thank Am-I-Binned for the link to tomorrow's chat. *gesturing hello to AIB* Just hope that my e-mail will be at least viewed before cancelling it... for ever... and ever... till the end of Time (yup, the magazine!) *sniffles*...
Anyone has a Kleenex!?
Before I've written some stories trying to imitate -cheaply- Mr Andy's style but it is strictly related to that game I'm in love with (Operation Flashpoint; I can say that playing this game is like reading Mr Andy's books... well, without His humour though!); dunno if anyone's interested in reading them. Why?... Er, y'know italian!? It's in this language! Woops... :D

Lynn:
Lynnholland: Andy, you are still very positive about the army. When told you "were expendible" don' t you get a slap in the face even though a soldier knows he can die? Lynn
Obiously you didn't miss out on the previous online chat at "This Is London" .. :)
>>By ortlieb (Wednesday, 19 Nov 2003 22:05)
GO WASH YOUR MOUTH Ortie ! For even suggesting I might have missed it. As far as I know the only one I missed was the Worldbookday one. Still in therapy for that. Oh, you found my question - but I had a covert one too: the 'dedicated fan' .. yours truly. Still haven't found out about the license plates ;o)
>>By Lynn (Wednesday, 19 Nov 2003 23:46)
Whoa, time drags... according to the "This Is London" article, six weeks have become six months...
>>By am-i-binned (Thursday, 20 Nov 2003 05:21)
I hope to get on and lurk for a little before running to work. Look forward to seeing you all there. And thanks AIB for the heads up on this! :)
Finished DW and will post on it later. Still working it out in my head and may read it again now that the initial impact is over.
If I don't make it tomorrow, have fun guys and gals. I'm sure there will be a transcript around somewhere to carry me through till the next event. :)

I just have to say I am totally devastated this morning, Wales are out of the European Cup finals. Damn it, the dream ends again....
>>By Bethan (Thursday, 20 Nov 2003 10:25)
SIX MORE MINUTES BEFORE IT BEGINS!!!!! ... and I'm not there...
Bwaaahhhhhh!!! :''''''''((
>>By Deusrexmachina (Thursday, 20 Nov 2003 12:54)
God, I really thought I could participate. I didn't know you had to register some time before with This is London. You get a mail confirming you registered within 24 hours. I'm to late! *tears*
>>By Lethe (Thursday, 20 Nov 2003 13:59)
Well I managed to miss most of that (bloody work, don't they know it was lunchtime!!!!). One of my over the web questions got asked but I don't know of any others, how did we all do? One or two were on fire! I have to say I'm really disappointed that he didn't answer my non-sensible questions like Britney or Christina? Bethan or bikergirl? Chips or chocolate? Swordswallowing or tight rope? ha ha ha ha
>>By Bethan (Thursday, 20 Nov 2003 15:56)
Well that was nice! I think I got 3 questions answered, so that's great.
Lynn, darling can you send me a copy too, I was too late to copy the interview, I was still doing my moonwalk of excitement.
I think AIB got 4 questions and Lynn 3 aswell, Bethan 2 I think, correct me if I'm wrong, but most questions came from usssssssssssss F Troop!
>>By borisette (Thursday, 20 Nov 2003 17:20)
Now if AM the other day did an interview with Tom Pun for the Ink magazine , that means he was in the UK right. And now he did this interivew by chat whilst he was in NY? Hey Tom Pun when are you going to give us that interview?
>>By borisette (Thursday, 20 Nov 2003 17:48)
well. hay babies - I saw some of you's on the webchat but I found that infuriating - you submit your question and they maybe they post it - it was tricky watching the questions and answers that some didtnt bear much relation - so I pooped off.
how about you?
>>By Pomplemous (Thursday, 20 Nov 2003 18:19)
Missed the whole thing! Bloody kids, don't they understand this is IMPORTANT to daddy? Far more important than getting to school on time!
Probably shouldn't put stuff like that in writing. Child Protective Services may be banging on my door any time now. Just for the record - the kids were in school on time, and daddy missed the chat.
Sounds like F Troop did well. Way to go, gang!
I will keep the trigger on This is London and await a chat transcript. Expect a sitrep shortly.
>>By Astroboy (Thursday, 20 Nov 2003 18:24)
Well done F Troopers... Shining stars...AIB, Lynn, borisette and Bethan...(that I saw getting Q's answered anyway) There was an excellent line in private messages going all the while too that kept me entertained <vbg> and <vbw> and lots of LOL
None of my Q's answered... What did you do last night? (and why weren't B.A.B.E.S invited...) What would you do with a 4-minute warning? (who/where/what...) 916 or 999?
Ah well...we'll get him one day...
>>By bikergirl (Thursday, 20 Nov 2003 18:39)
>Bethan or bikergirl?
Of course the answer to that one wsa sent privately... both
>>By B.A.B.E.S (Thursday, 20 Nov 2003 18:41)
Do you know I missed the live chat session.
I was so preoccupied with the Bush/Blair news conference and the Turkish bomb blasts that the live chat seemed insignificant in comparison...World affairs do tend to grab the attention...
Sorry AM...But there tis, you just ain't the be-all-end-all of the greater globe beyond gnooks.
Nice one F-Troop if you did as well as you hoped!!
>>By buddy (Thursday, 20 Nov 2003 18:42)
Sorry you missed the chat, buddy. What little I got to see was interesting. I saw the news about the Turkish bomb blast too. Since there wasn't much I could do about that though and the B/B news conference will be repeated a hundred times (if we're lucky ;)), I figured that AM was certainly worth my time and attention.... at least until work grabbed it. Ah, the grind of real life.
Sounds like F Troop did F-enominally well! VBG!
