Back to Mid Wales, November 2003, 1/2 way down Pen-y-Fan... The camera pans to AM struggling headlong thru' all the biggest gorse bushes (he's gotta look the part when he gets back to the book signing...) He doesn't hear the approaching trailie bike...till it's too late...
bikergirl gives it a handful of gas...the back end of the bike spins round and AM is showered with dirt from the spinning tyre...
bg : "Mr McNab, you're required for further questioning by F-Troop..." AM : "................" (he can't reply...he's got a mouthful of mud...) bg : "Please don't make any sudden movements Mr McNab...coz I'm Dangerous I Am..."
bikergirl unzips her jacket to reveal a superb 6-pack...of calorie-controlled-tins taped to her waist... AM : "Sh!t...a SlimFast terrorist...I'll come quietly (!)..."
Bethan rapels down from the F-Troop helo (there's a bigger budget available on this board, yeah??) B : "Ok, Mr McNab...I was nice to you on the summit...but down here, 'We're Scientists We Are' and this won't be like any other interrogation you've had before...our positions are classified"
tbc...

Ohmilord, Bikergirl and, by the transitive property, Bethan! And here I thought DW had a shocker tbc! What an excellent start on our journey of a thousand pages!!! :o)

Happy 100th everybody!!! We lived to see it, I'm so proud to have been a part of making it here (ha ha)
Bikergirl, I knew you wouldn't let me down, way to go girl. I'm glad I'm the one in the helo I'm less scared of them than motorbikes. Bagsy I be Mr Nasty Interrogator!! Next part double time (less work, more time wasting)
>>By Bethan (Friday, 14 Nov 2003 13:31)
Happy 100th indeed. Congratulations to those of you who have been involved for a while. I'm glad to be a part of the 2nd 100.
Dare, perhaps we can hook up at the next Fry Street Fair (before we had kids, that was a high spot on our calendar every year!)!
Staying tuned in to see how the interrogation proceeds...

Wow! First board to reach the 100 pages mark.
Congratulations to everybody! 3000 messages in a row... not bad :o)
For your amusement, here is a graph showing the McNab-board activity by week:

The first week (4th week of 2003) shows 13 postings, the last one (not ended yet) 86. During the peekweek, 256 messages have been posted.
>>By mg (Friday, 14 Nov 2003 16:04)
Hmmm.... and all it took was that one little question, eh, MG? (vbg! vbw!)
What's truly amazing (and you young 'un F Troopers, you listen up now to this gobby old ol' timer!) --- when we first came here, it was a full six months before we even filled one page!
(The original first post [pre-boogle] was in August 2002, but timestamps weren't implemented until January 2003.)

Lab coats and latex gloves at the ready Beth? I'll be wearing nitrile variety...girlie colour and smell like strawberries... Just right for the 'good' part of the 'good girl-bad girl' interrogation routine...LOLOL
Got any interrogation Q's for Mr McNab?...please send off-board to Beth or me...we can't let him get any intel on us...LOLOL

Nice work MG ! I've been 'walking' through the pages this morning... sheer nostalgia haha. And weird... pretty weird at times.
But fun too and let's not forget very nice contacts I've made over the year. So cheers Andy, have one on me tonight.. :o)
>>By Lynn (Friday, 14 Nov 2003 20:23)

How Freudian that slip was, DTO! LOL
Hey, if BG and Beth need someone to spell them for a bit if the interview goes long, I'll be happy to stand in for the "good girl" or "bad girl". ;)
Happy 100 to all and to all a Good Night!
>>By Dare (Saturday, 15 Nov 2003 02:57)
I too have my latex gloves snapping on ready! (But not strawberry ha ha!!!) AIB less flirting with the interrogators ha ha, we shall not deliver our prisoner until we have what we want to know, then he's all yours.
Andy McNab we are coming for you!! (Something tells me he won't be scared ah well)
>>By Bethan (Saturday, 15 Nov 2003 14:04)
Uhm... Bethan? Less flirting with whom...? No probs tho! You can have what you want to know, I know what I want to have! (gasp! omigod! did I say that out loud?)

Literally, a flying visit to Bath on family business, felt sure I'd miss the cake and candles (did) - a query here, nod and wink in the city, and hey-diddly:

Hi i have read your pages with interest for a while now and I am intrigued to know what made you want to read Mr McNab's books in the beginning, are you also into Chris Ryan?
>>By Julia (Sunday, 16 Nov 2003 15:05)
Hello Julia.. nice to see you posting after reading for a while. You'll probably know the routine then.. hehe.. Are you a (McNab/Ryan)reader too? Which books? Why? All the 'W's' :o) For me it was 'just' a coincidence. Someone who read B20 and said I should read it too.. and I was hooked. Took a while before I started reading Remote Control because I didn't think fiction could be as good as the non-fiction... boy..was I wrong!
>>By Lynn (Sunday, 16 Nov 2003 15:27)
Woow, just made it in time. Happy birthday everyone, we did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well Mr. Mcnab you could drop by and say something. Anyway shouldn't it be your birthday soon too, isn't it dicember or something, capricorn hey is it then. Well congratulations to you too and best of luck with your new book . Don't forget to blow the candles...
I am just nackered, being out 4 days on SOP. Hey BG and Bethan I could help you out with some new tricks on how to manipulate and make people talk (even pay) without mercy, ooh yeah. Been looking the whole morning to lumbar hernias, and then afterwards laparascopic and cistoscopic exams, and that on a sunday morning. Nice start for the week.

Hi Lyn, I am the same really I met a guy who started working at the same place as me and being in personnel I read his C.V it said that he had served with 22 regiment( at work we were expecting the usual, I've been in the SAS shit! But he never ever mentioned it once only to say that he was in the army . I got on really well with him and he seemed like such a calm person. I went out and bought Bravo Two Zero and like you was addicted in the last six monthes I have read all of his books and most of Chris Ryans (Not Dark Winter yet!) I became good friends with this guy who has now left for pastures new but we still keep in touch. I admire him totally as a person for doing the things he must have done but never felt the need to share (Yes I was Dying to ask)!!!
>>By Julia (Sunday, 16 Nov 2003 18:29)
Julia, Can imagine you wanted to ask.. yet these guys don't seem to be too happy being 'questioned'. And they're probably right ;o)
What's your favorite McNab? Haven't finished DW yet but love it so far.. and certainly a must-read if you like his books!!
>>By Lynn (Sunday, 16 Nov 2003 21:02)
Hi Lynn, I think my favorite book is Liberation Day as I feel he has grown a lot in his style. I actually enjoy Chris Ryan books more as I feel with AM that the whole Kelly thing has backed him into a corner, Chris Ryan's use of different characters makes for a more exciting read, what do you think.? Have you ever seen pis of him, why is he so intent on secrecy while CR is on TV almost every night along with other SP or ex SP men. What are your views on this?
>>By Julia (Sunday, 16 Nov 2003 21:34)
Happy 100th board-day to everyone!
I stumbled upon this msg-board when it was in the mid 40's, and I've made a lot of good acquaintances. May it continue to 100 more.
Cheers!
>>By ortlieb (Sunday, 16 Nov 2003 22:26)
Actually I am very fond of Nick Stone AND Kelly and I'm glad she returned in Dark Winter. And that McNab's books are still about Nick Stone. About the secrecy.. maybe you'd like to read their own words:
Andy McNab (chat March '03)
Q: Why do you keep your identity hidden after all this time?
Andy McNab: Because I'm still getting death threats. Now it tends to be right wing American groups becuase I won't go and play with their guns, and because of the lunatics out there.
Chris Ryan (chat March '03)
Q: Why can your face be seen and Andy McNab's not?
Chris Ryan: It's basically and simply different policies of the publishing houses. It was a publicity campaign when he first did it, there is no reason why someone from the SAS can't be seen, as we have seen several members do so. It was just a stance they took as a publicity thing. It actually curtails what he can do, I know that stations go for people from the Regiment who can show their face first, and he's the last resort. _____________________
Well, make up your own mind ;o) Have I ever seen 'pis' of him.. I don't think I'd tell if I did :o) (which can be read as a 'no') We're still waiting for an invitation for a 'public-invited only-book signing.. hehe.
>>By Lynn (Sunday, 16 Nov 2003 22:32)
Hi Lynn, I did'nt mean that I don't like Kelly or Nick Stone in the books, just that AM is limiting his options. Does AM live in Hereford now, do you know, does CR ? Do they know about this site perhaps they would be interested!!
