hahahaha!... you speaking from personal experience?
Nevermind, don't answer that! I have a high opinion of you, Reg, and I'd hate for it to go south. LOL
(PS- it doesn't hurt as much as you'd think. ;-)

Well, my young Majorette,
It was a cold, windy night in stormy Suffolk when the sweet cry of a Kentucky Bourbon beckoned to my colleagues and I from a distant pub. In the time-honoured tradition of the British Army, we kindly tabbed in haste to it's rescue where we heard considerably more cries and obligingly responded. Much later we arrived back after becoming somewhat irritated by the "moving road". Upon my eventual boubon-induced sleep, one of my whipper-snappers took the initiative in, how shall we say, waxing my nether-regions. All this done while I was totally oblivious to everything. However, I soon awoke upon the ripping of such substance from it's resting place where I can assure you young lady, for me it smarted........and I mean smarted !
I guess I had it coming. The young whipper-snapper was a former target of mine where after a similar drunken night out I shaved off his left eyebrow completely when he was out for the count. It's an interesting concept as the poor victim does not know whether to leave it and wait for it to grow back, looking quite hilarious in the time-being, or shaving off the other one to try and not be so conspicuous !
It's all a bit off-topic but it's just a memory for a bit of light-relief. Please, Lynn, no inuendos !!
Reg

Who....me?????????? I must admit I have trouble swallowing thoughts about whipper-snapper but I won't say a thing!!

I don't know what impresses me more, Reg- the fact that you've had a bikini wax, or the fact that you admitted to it on this board.
You're Grade A in my book. :-D
>>By Majorette (Tuesday, 18 Jan 2005 22:50)
The bikini wax is an obligatory part of combat interrogation. Any operator would know that....
>>By ortlieb (Wednesday, 19 Jan 2005 03:05)
Great story Reg, thanks for the laughs. Remind me never to pass out near you.

< The bikini wax is an obligatory part of combat interrogation
Does that mean you'd be talking to a dick-head?
>>By Lynn (Wednesday, 19 Jan 2005 08:38)
Lynn, I wouldn't touch that comment with a ten-foot...Okay, I just won't comment.

Lynn
Kip is the same as gonk, doss, or wob...namely to takes ones rest in ones pit, maggot or w**king chariot.
A nissen hut is I believe the same as a Quonsett hut...but i may be wrong on the american name for them, thay are semi circular (in cross section) huts made of wriggly tin...great in a place like Belize....have the same qualities as an oven on gas mark 5.
Spike I was in APC and Holdfast, I only went to Rideau once so sorry dont know goldfinger...I did see the james Bond film of the same name tho..does that help?
Reg..
I sympathise with the whole wax/nether regions experience ...makes me cringe just thinking about it..a mate of mine was once seeing a WRAC girl, when he fell asleep on her one night before performing his.... er duties (alcohol was involved there as well!!)... she shaved his bottom...completely...he only found out the next day when in the heat of a nice summers day his sweat sort of highlighted the sensitivity of his newly depilated backside...
mucho sorry for being off subject everyone...you never know tho maybe AM shaves his butt every now and then....nah cant see it myself!!..
>>By BushisaManiac (Wednesday, 19 Jan 2005 09:59)
Thanks B-maniac :-) "A nissen hut ...have the same qualities as an oven on gas mark 5" What an excellent example of a multi functional (and therefor upmost effective/profitable) use of facility! While you take a nap your grilled chicken is ready.
"she shaved his bottom...completely..." It's us girls again.... duh! :-))
"maybe AM shaves his butt every now and then" DARN, if only question-time was not overdue - Jon, mark this one for next time!!!

Hmmm.... Certainly gives new meaning to the expression ... "that was a close shave!" ;o)
Here's a link -- http://www.royal-navy.mod.uk/static/pages/2010.html. Took the "Commandos Interactive" test a few times, and it says I'm definitely made of the right stuff -- overly qualified, in fact -- to be a civvie!

this is about DW so those that havent read it please desist from peeking....
I thought that the circumstances surrounding Kelly's death were very weak...I mean the female K..cant remember her name!.. fires her gat faster than you can say antidissestablishmentarianism..without blinking an eyelid, and yet when she goes to save Kelly she just keeps shouting 'leave her alone'..or words to that effect..geting Kelly and herself killed in the process...I mean in keeping with the character as AM has portrayed her she would have emptied the whole mag at the fella holding Kelly and then sorted out the results omce the cordite cleared.....dissapointing ending to that particular book methinks!! <\spoiler>

B-Maniac, with regard to your comments on Dark Winter......
I completely agree. I had a difficult time figuring what, exactly, happened in that last scene. Given the evidence, it appears like a woman with a gun was overpowered by a man with a knife. Which I could believe if she ran out of bullets, but she obviously had enough to mortally wound him since he was found dead at the scene as well, wasn't he? I'm going off of memory here, so maybe I'm wrong, but it did seem a bit curious.

Lol Ortlieb, is that when the girls from the beauty school are getting a visit and has to give the lads a workshop ? 'When applying the wax, make sure you go against the growth of the hairs.'
>>By Ninjawoman (Thursday, 20 Jan 2005 10:37)
For Majorette
You are right, the guy managed to stab her through the neck, probably by throwing the knife, however if he was holding the knife to Kelly's throat and removed it to throw it at the woman, she ,with her training and as I said before lack of reluctance to use the MP5, would have separated his head from his body before he could have thrown it...its as though AM thought.."oh jesus cant have nicky boy falling in love with all these women and having to care for a mentally disturbed teenage girl...people will think he's a soppy puppy lap dog...hnah best kell them off a s quickly as possible'!!

Ok bikini wax, having had my eyebrows done, which was painfull enough the idea of a bikini line wax does not really thrill me with happiness... How anyone can have boiling hot oil poured over their eyes while someone called a beautician pulls every hair out is not an experience i cared for... But according to the lovely beautician there is something called a sack crack and back which is the most painfull of all... And nope i aint having that lol

In case any of you (women here) had any serious plans:
Army affirms its ban on women in combat THE WASHINGTON TIMES
Army Secretary Francis Harvey has told Congress that the service will keep the Pentagon's ban against female soldiers in ground combat, including no assignments to units that routinely embed with war fighters. The Army had been reviewing the 1994 ban to see whether changes should be made to coincide with a sweeping transformation plan for combat brigades. (..) "There's no change of policy as far as I'm concerned," Mr. Bush said. "No women in combat. Having said that, let me explain, we've got to make sure we define combat properly: We've got women flying choppers and women flying fighters, which I'm perfectly content with." The Clinton administration in 1994 lifted the ban on women in combat aircraft and ships, but left in place the prohibition on direct land combat and collocation.

BManiac-
More on DW......
<<people will think he's a soppy puppy lap dog...>> Perhaps, but the alternative is, without Kelly (the main foil to the Nick Stone character) NS is in danger of becoming even more opaque to readers. Before, we knew he felt, hurt, and suffered through his interactions with Kelly and how he talked about her. Without a focus for his emotions, he could become opaque to his readers.
If Nick Stone is to continue his adventures, I think McNab had better replace Kelly quick. With what? I don't know. But he was more human when he was more vulnerable.
Personally, I think we're witnessing the beginning of the end. I think McNab is picking off Nick's friends and family one by one to clear the way for a big bang finish........

I whole-heartedly agree with your comment above, Maj.

oh man, these Google ads in the left-hand column are a hoot! At first I chuckled at the hair removal ads, but then I saw the one on how to "Train your McNab" !!
From the website:
"Who Else Wants To Speed-Train Their McNab And Banish Bad Behavior ...In Just 15 Minutes A Day?"
1) Scolding and punishing does NOT work for McNabs ...and it can make your dog even harder to train!
2) McNabs can be easily housebroken ...but popular housetraining methods often backfire with these dogs!
3) McNabs have a special mental "trigger" that can be used to make them obey your every command like you had a special "doggie remote control".
--------
hahahahahahaha! So many jokes..... so little time............
>>By Majorette (Friday, 21 Jan 2005 22:36)
LMFAO! Damn, I hope McNab sees that one!
