JJ-

Well DAY-UM, man!! Only a few months online and already you've gotten an interview with McNab! hahahahaha! Way to show us how it's done!

Here's my carefully-worded question:

When the F*CK is Crisis Four coming out?!?!?!

(If he asks where I got such a potty-mouth, you can tell him from reading his books.)

Other questions will be sent via flork as I think of them.........

oh, and congrats again, JJ.... you worked so hard on Greymansland; I'm glad it's getting some recognition. :-)

Does anyone know where to get a hold of the British equivalent of U.S. military field manuals?

>>By Just Jon   (Saturday, 15 Jan 2005 21:24)

Hi Jon
Such training manuals are 'Restricted' or higher. Mind you, people sell their mothers on e-bay so that's the place to keep an eye out.
Cheers
Trekker

>>By Trekker   (Saturday, 15 Jan 2005 23:09)

Ah, thanks. Most U.S. manuals are freely available, though the sensitive stuff is classified.

<< I read in Zoo Weekly magazine a few days ago that Warner Brothers have almost completed filming>>

'woah...... I'd be surprised if this were true, seeing as how Miramax bought the rights to Crisis Four, not Warner Brothers'

Hi Maj... regarding the above, this confused me also, as I had been searching, unsuccessfully, for months for Miramax & Crisis Four links, as I was aware that Miramax had bought the rights. As I said, Zoo Weekly isn't the most accurate of magazines at the best of times and my post was in hope that someone could clarify this or had more info, but I've got my fingers crossed that they were correct about the release date, but maybe not the Warner Brothers part (not likely!!).

PS, Thanks to Lynn & Just Jon for the welcome, this is a great site with lots of well informed people.

Hell Slim me boyo. what ever happened to Cynon Taf?

>>By poolesprocket   (Sunday, 16 Jan 2005 20:42)

Hi Pooley. What happened to Cynon Taf? Do you mean in general??

>>By TheSlim   (Sunday, 16 Jan 2005 21:13)

Oh my Pooley, we've been accused often of asking for 'prove' someone being legit - that's not what YOU are doing now are you ????

>>By Lynn   (Sunday, 16 Jan 2005 22:06)

Slim-

You may want to try Variety.com- an entertainment journal that covers all things Hollywood. You need a subscription but I believe they have a free trial if you are so inclined. May be worthwhile to see if there has been any casting, filming, on-location news, etc.

Good luck on the quest!

Good entertaining board about a good entertaining author,

Poolesprocket....I reckon my QM suedes have more military experience than you you...I dont know what special forces you claim to have been in, maybe Andy Capps Commandoes (ACC..work it out!!) but your attitude sucks..I remember being in a 40 commando bar in Holdfast camp christmas 85, we were invited by the Booties for a jolly old piss-up and some sproggie little arse came up to each and every one of us Non-commando, offered his hand and then pulled it away telling us we were just useless f**king craphats... when seen by one of his full-screws, the aforementioned full screw leaped the bar dragged the little git outside and gave him a good slapping...the full screw came back and apologised saying that the Royal Marines were letting some right arseholes in 'nowadays' opinionated little twats with more bravado than common sense..

Well Pooley my old -eeeh bah gum ecky thump tha knows northern chum!! were you perchance that sproggie little commando !!

or just another self opinionated twat!!

>>By BushisaManiac   (Monday, 17 Jan 2005 18:27)

Heh, looks like our little froggie poole's been out-swum once again. I reckon he'll show up at Coronado eventually, boogie-board and camera in hand, seeing as how he's embarrassed his own so many times.
Btw, of course Bush is a maniac...Where's the fun in electing a sane person?

>>By Just Jon   (Monday, 17 Jan 2005 20:53)

Good point Just Jon..we've been electing nutters for years...we even had a fella as PM that got his rain coat maker a knighthood!!

>>By BushisaManiac   (Monday, 17 Jan 2005 21:35)

That's because the sane ones are smart enough to stay away from politics.

Welcome BushisaManiac.

>>By Majorette   (Monday, 17 Jan 2005 21:37)

Oooh Maj!! Does that mean even I can become a politician???
;-))

>>By Lynn   (Monday, 17 Jan 2005 22:13)

This is a weird one:
How to shave
(blablabla)
"Always finish off by moisturising your face and neck. Once again, there are plenty of products aimed at men which sound as if they were devised by Andy McNab: Titanium Anti-Oxidant Free Radical Assassin and so on."

Uhm...I'm not sure AM should advice anything concerning shaving ;-)

>>By Lynn   (Monday, 17 Jan 2005 22:28)

Ooops, wanted to edit but something went wrong.
Meant to add: he may devise any moisturising but I'm not sure he's using it on himself ;-)

>>By Lynn   (Monday, 17 Jan 2005 22:32)

moisturiser!!...you mean little bits of toilet paper and Aramis aren't de-rigeur anymore?

>>By BushisaManiac   (Monday, 17 Jan 2005 22:52)

Well... I do usually care more what's underneath - so moisturiser, toiletpaper.. all good as long as who ever is using it is ok.

Now that is the social answer.

The other answer: toilet paper? Don't shave when your drunk mate

>>By Lynn   (Monday, 17 Jan 2005 22:58)

or dont shave after my girlfriend has been blunting my razors on her legs...without telling me of course!!

>>By BushisaManiac   (Monday, 17 Jan 2005 23:07)

Oh great, let's blame the women ;-)

So what's your interest in McNab Maniac?

>>By Lynn   (Monday, 17 Jan 2005 23:09)

As for Andy, seems he went through his unshaved "Don Johnson" phase right around the time Bravo Two Zero was published--looks like he's taken to standing closer to the razor these days.

>>By Just Jon   (Monday, 17 Jan 2005 23:12)

well you have to blame someone dont you!!

my interest in macnab..well I dont want to have cosy wee evenings in some bistro with him....but he does write a rather jolly good book or two

>>By BushisaManiac   (Monday, 17 Jan 2005 23:18)

Tell you what, BushisaManiac....
If you can get me the cosy wee evenings in some bistro with him, I'll personally deliver over my entire collection of his books... :o)

>>By am-i-binned   (Monday, 17 Jan 2005 23:29)

<<or dont shave after my girlfriend has been blunting my razors on her legs...without telling me of course!!>>

Get your girl a home waxing kit. Problem solved.

Girls listen up. Any kind of extended mission in the field demands waxing. No pesky razors to carry in/out, no need for shaving cream, no nicks, no cuts, no dull blades. Just weeks of smoothness and hair-free skin.

I kipped in a bed in a nissen hut. Oh and 1 night in JB's attic.

>>By BushisaManiac   (Tuesday, 18 Jan 2005 16:40)

< but he does write a rather jolly good book or two

Good to hear - I'd comment on the kip and nissen but I have no idea what you're on about (but not meant for me anyway)

>>By Lynn   (Tuesday, 18 Jan 2005 17:21)

Ah, Majorette, good to hear your wise words of wisdom.

"home waxing kit" ............... I thoroughly recommend it, though I take my hat (beret) off to you ladies when it comes to the ol' bikini line......yep, sure smarts !!!!
