Good Point Camban,

Unless he IS still working for some sort of security forces...

Will we ever know???

>>By Shoot-To-Kill   (Tuesday, 6 Jul 2004 20:05)

Tut tut boys .. do I detect a few sour tasting grapes ? Can you tell me/us why the fact that we like his eyes and chin is rubbing you in the wrong way ?
Then again, what is not to like? Bright blue eyes that radiate mischief, and an accent that can make tulips bloom in the dead of winter ! * dreamy sigh* Where is that tape of B20 again ?? I need to hear him again .. pronto !!

>>By Ninjawoman   (Tuesday, 6 Jul 2004 22:06)

Well I got info that for real he's got very deep dark brown eyes, is at least 6 ft and has a grey beard. And his real name is Hentje.

>>By Lynn   (Tuesday, 6 Jul 2004 22:34)

uh oh, Lynn.... I think I saw that guy the other day at Jim's Gun Jobbery in Fayetteville, NC while I was visiting Ft. Bragg!!

He was buying a crossbow and muttering to himself...

Just my luck.......I only go online in the evenings so missed out again. I caught it by accident this afternoon over half way through. The History Channel website didn't mention it at all. :o(

Hi all fellow Andy Mcnab fan's well this is only my second post and i'm still trying to master this computer thingy lol...I'm really looking forward to reading the next Andy McNab novel which is supposed to be out sometime in october. So that will go on my xmas list with series three of ultimate force...
I have finished Mike Coburns book Soldier five, and found it a really good read...
while in a bookstore today i bought midnight in a burning town by Christian jennings, i read his first book about life in the french forgein legion a good many years ago, and find him to be a great writer... The book is about the SAS and bosnia to iraq so it'll be bedtime reading for the next week with my white hot chocolate drink... Ok best wishes to all and from the novice thanks for all the very kind messages some of you have left it was very nice of you to take the time and welcome me to this great litreture site. thanks God bless all.

Nice to meet you briwriter! The new book looks interesting. Should be cool to see what AM has in mind for the next step in Nick's not-so-slow descent into he**. ;-)

Hey Maj, sure that store wasn't Wars R Us?

>>By camban   (Wednesday, 7 Jul 2004 11:59)

Hey camban, nope.... it was Jim's. You know, the one mentioned in Crisis Four? The one where Nick Stone is going on his shopping spree... Y'know, the one where he goes to buy....

Oh forget it.

>>By Majorette   (Wednesday, 7 Jul 2004 13:45)

Actually Maj, I think it's the same place, but I thought it was in Remote Control. He says the store SHOULD be called Wars R Us, in his usual witty manner.

Hope that clears up this important matter.

>>By camban   (Wednesday, 7 Jul 2004 15:55)

LOL! We have a store here in Texas like that... oh wait, EVERY store in Texas is like that! Andy needs to send Nick here for an op!

JK.... there are a few stores that don't carry camouflage and armour-piercing rounds. ;-)

>>By Dare   (Wednesday, 7 Jul 2004 16:56)

camban-

Looks like we're both right. He does refer to Jim's later on when he briefly mentions the camouflage net he bought at "Wars R Us", but it's in Crisis Four, not Remote Control that this takes place.

BTW, Jim's is EXACTLY as he described it. The only thing I didn't see is the big red sign saying, "Before entry weapons will be unloaded, actions opened, and thank you for not smoking." Might still be there, but if it was, I missed it.

What's this I read about a new Andy McNab book out in October?! Excellent! Dark Winter was bloody quality

>>By Ignaty   (Wednesday, 7 Jul 2004 19:26)

More NEWS on Deep Black !!!!
Read an article at www.guardi-anachronism.co.uk

"Today has been revealed that former SAS hero turned writer Andy McNab has remotely regained control since he was in severe crisis for almost losing the entire transcript from his new novel Deep Black when his laptop crashed because it lacked a good firewall. His publishing agent Mark Lucias has stated today that McNab has been working every day till last light to rewrite what he lost and was pleased to have succeeded this week on liberation day. Release date for Deep Black november the 4th will not be in danger which, and we quote one of his many fans here: "is very fortunate or it would have been a very dark winter this year".

>>By Lynn   (Wednesday, 7 Jul 2004 20:59)

If I didn't like him already, I do now ! Or is it more? Oh heck i don't care, just glad that the book is still coming on time. That is to say, for me, it is always late !

Good work Andy !! X Thanks .... a lot !!!!!!

>>By Ninjawoman   (Wednesday, 7 Jul 2004 23:17)

ROFL! Good one, Lynn! :-D

>>By Dare   (Thursday, 8 Jul 2004 02:42)

Camban thanks for the link to the full spectrum warrrior site it's not out on pc yet but i have it on Xbox and it is very realistic. you control a section and have a lot of commands but i can see why it was designed for the army to use because the ai is incedible.

>>By Nemesis2842004   (Thursday, 8 Jul 2004 08:31)

I saw full spectrum warrior as the local games store the other day, one question when will it be out for PS2, i have heard there is a Andy mcnab game coming for the pc i think, i saw something about it on one of those movie and record sites, looks good... There is a sas game coming out for ps2 later in the year according to the site.
As for Deep Black, i wonder if this will be the last Nick Stone novel as he seems yo be going downhill a bit, poor guy after all he has been through.
I know there is talk about a rainbow six movie based on tom clancy's novel but when or when will we get a nick stone movie...
This is my third post wow, at this rate i'll be a computer geek in weeks lol hahaha oh and thanks again for the messages and thank you dare for your kind letter best wishes to all God bless

>>By briwriter   (Thursday, 8 Jul 2004 19:14)

I believe the andy mcnab is out for either the playstation or xbox. a rainbow six movie would be cool, but i like the idea of the sas fiction put on film that would be very good as long as they do it correctly and not like ultimate force.

>>By Nemesis2842004   (Thursday, 8 Jul 2004 23:39)

talking about ultimate force, did i hear someone talkin about ultimate force: series 3...

WHAT

ULTIMATE FORCE: SERIES 3???????

>>By Shoot-To-Kill   (Friday, 9 Jul 2004 00:10)

According to www.tothegame.com:
Andy McNab: Team SAS for PS2 has status cancelled (the game will not see the light of day) and for XBox status On Hold (development of this title is uncertain)

Someone interested in the Gulf War 1 Chronology: this is a nice site:

I see the mentioning of military/SAS-related computer games.... I think all these titles are available on PC and PS2... probably Xbox too.

1. Team SAS (military/tech advisor: Andy McNab): judging from pictures, it looks very "arcade-like" - disappointing actually.

2. Project IGI-2 (mil/tech advisor: Chris Ryan): FPS-game (First Person Shooter). Looks very good.

3. Conflict: Desert Storm 1 & 2 (mil/tech advisor: Cameron Spence). Very good game. Same kind of thing as Full Spectrum Warrior. The scenario is set to Gulf War 1. Very cool indeed. A lot of the missions in the first game are based on real SAS ops from the real conflict.

4. Ghost Recon-series: Tom Clancy production. Very good!

5. Rainbox Six-series: also Tom Clancy production. Counter-terrorism stuff.

6. Operation Flashpoint: this is actually a military simulator where you as squad leader can utilitize your squad freely. You can mount and dismount any kind of vehicle and weaponry. Very cool indeed!

7. America's Army: same thing as Op Flashpoint.

8. Battlefield 1942: also same as Op Flashpoint.

9. Medal of Honor-series: First Person Shooter. Kinda old now, but it's inspired from the Saving Private Ryan / Band of Brothers wave.

10. Call of Duty: very much like Medal of Honor, only better!

11. Vietcong: First Person Shooter, set in Vietnam.

+++++++ There are lots of military themed games out there. Interesting that the ex Reg squaddies have decided to make money in that area too......

You can say what you will, but I think that the authors mentioned above have turned into total sell-outs. Oh well... One has to put bread on the table, right? :-)

(I still enjoy reading their books though).

>>By ortlieb   (Sunday, 11 Jul 2004 14:01)

I only looked for Team Sas Ortie and I know that it was far in development, would have been released october last year, but Rage was in financial problems and it seems it was put on hold. If you try order online you'll find it's not possible.
Like : www.gameseek.co.uk, wil give you "Sorry, your search for "team sas" in all categories returned no results"

The Boy sends his thanks, Ortlieb... :o)
