No worry Lynn. "Wishing in on hand and shittin in the other". Revival attempts will be fruitless. Even if both of you "wish" for it!
Mick said that to Rocky in the first movie.

On "Exit Wound"; you know how some novelists kind of tail off after, say, fifteen books? Well no such problem here, in fact I'd say that this is one of his best, hugely enjoyable in his now traditional, unique style. He gets more factual accuracy in these days too with plenty of canny political observations which are often alarmingly prescient. Together with the geographical and technical insights, his eminent squaddie style of dialogue makes for a fascinating tale of epic proportions. Only niggle is again the copious quantity of blank paper combined with very short chapters which makes for a feeling of being slightly cheated. Also contains many British cultural references which may confuse the foreigners here, though certain Western Europeans already steal BBC programmes without paying the licence fee so they may be aware of the TV programmes referred to in the text. Not saying who they may be but they make a clonking noise when they walk. If anyone else wants clarification just ask me.

Oh goodie .. a mystery! People who make clonking noises when walking..... ?? Hmmmm Are people still clonking these days ? And if so ... where ???? I'll try to figure it out during the weekend. After that cute bear .. erm .. pudsey.

Cam, can we post your above thoughts concerning "Exit Wound" at GML?
>>By 1690 (Friday, 20 Nov 2009 22:33)
Of course you can. I will be most honoured Mr. 90, or may I presume to call you 16?
>>By camban (Saturday, 21 Nov 2009 11:57)
Thanks cam, posting it now. Working on loads of sites at the moment so everyone please forgive any delays in addressing your specific needs. I promise, it keeps me up at night and I'm trying to do the best I can for everyone involved. And Cam, you can just call me "jon" here on the board, I think everyone knows who I am.

I was thinking about a message board for our Andy McNab site, but then I realized, we DO have one here which we could just link to...And Marek's done so much for us for so long, why not just have a forum link that directs here? Thoughts?
>>By 1690 (Tuesday, 24 Nov 2009 02:11)
Positive thoughts for me Jon, go for it.
>>By camban (Tuesday, 24 Nov 2009 11:25)
Update...Currently completely re-installing an e-commerce site due to someone else's crap code. Greymansland.com is still up-to-the-minute for Andy McNab news, but the re-design is on hold. Maybe that's a positive in a way, gives any interested parties here time to make requests/suggestions.

Andy McNab and Prince Charles in the same picture!

Just "Florked Around" and found the Best Flork Profile Ever: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [I won't put his name here, that would be mean]
"Interested in people living outside the Netherlands." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So let's see... Netherlands population (approx.): 16,443,269 World population (approx.): 6,692,030,277
Basically, he's interested in chatting with 99.8% of everyone alive today. I just found that funny, especially since there's a Netherlands contingent on this board.

Once ya go black, Ugly white chicks never go back. Yea Bro!
>>By My Cheatin Heart (Monday, 21 Dec 2009 16:41)
Oh no !! What could be wrong with people from the Netherlands ?? According to my limited experience with Dutch people, they are nice, warm, hip, open and very kind. No clonking at all .... but what do I know ha ? All you nice people here, happy xmas !
>>By Ninjawoman (Monday, 21 Dec 2009 21:13)
I love the Dutch! I just found it funny that some random Dutch dude found it necessary to exclude the Dutch, and only the Dutch, from his list of people he wants to talk to. As for My Cheatin Heart...Dude, fucking smoke a peace pipe. I've tried to extend an olive branch, but you keep being a dick. You know what would happen if you fucked with me in person, so quit mouthing off on the internet and appreciate the fact that despite all the rancor, some of us here respect you and know you're a decent person. I love a good keyboard fight, but I like to pause periodically and let people know it's all in good fun. If you just do the same, you might be surprised to find that a lot of us here would like to count you as a friend. I hate this shit, being mean to people I actually like, and I hope you do too. It's never too late to say, hey, we've gone too far, we're all in the wrong and let's laugh about it and move on. At the same time, it's never too late to meet me in person on video and show everyone how hard you are. I'm cool with either way, but I'd really rather be your friend.

I have to ask about Cheatin' though.. did he swallow MTV or something or what's with the language??
>>By Lynn (Wednesday, 23 Dec 2009 20:49)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANDY MCNAB!!! That's right, Andy's 50 today, and he doesn't look a day over 48. We're collecting birthday greetings for Andy, and if you'd like to wish him well you can leave a comment at: http://greymansland.com/andymcnabnews/?p=499
In other news, Lynn said: I have to ask about Cheatin' though.. did he swallow MTV or something or what's with the language?? I don't want to speculate on what Cheatin' may or may not swallow, but I'm starting to wonder if it might just be a case of posting drunk. I do it, usually to my embarrassment, but unlike Cheatin' I like to post again once I'm sober and at least attempt to explain/apologize for my drunken ramblings. Having said that, in all the years and posts here, there's only one person I absolutely hate and it ain't Cheatin'. That person went away (I've always hoped due to a horrible accident or similar), so no worries there. Frankly, I'm saddened that so many have dropped away from here due to the rancor--I can see not wanting to argue, but one can just ignore posts they don't like and move on. It makes Andy's fans look like a bunch of pussies, really. At least Cheatin' still posts, and I'm hoping he'll occasionally share a book review or just random thoughts about Andy McNab. Then again, I've a soft spot for assholes because I am one.

WE ARE PROVIDING BETA INVITES to anyone interested in joining an Andy McNab-focused, well-moderated forum. What does "well moderated" mean? It means, don't bash Andy with no supporting evidence, don't try to guess/post his real name, and don't ever try to identify/post IP addresses of any forum member. Other than that, you can say what you want. Personal attacks are fine because we don't cater to pussies, so flame away. Also, if you claim to have been in the military, you'll have to provide proof, and if you claim a specific role in the military we'll need proof of that as well. Interested? Email jon@greymansland.com and we'll set you up as a pioneer member of the new board. Best wishes to all Andy McNab fans in 2010!
>>By 1690 (Tuesday, 29 Dec 2009 02:20)
Sounds good 1690. My best wishes to all you out there too :-)

I'm leaving Flork/Gnooks (and yes, I'm sober at the moment!), the main reason being that I'm now limiting myself to communications where real names are used. If you look at all the crap that's gone down on this board over the years, I'll bet 95% of it wouldn't have happened if we all used our real names and locations. Not because of fear of retribution, but because I believe people treat others more like real people when they're talking to "Jim Smith" instead of "DarkAvenger." I think that's the direction the internet is heading, real identities and therefore a better level of communication. Thanks to everyone here for supporting Andy McNab and the http://www.greymansland.com Andy McNab website. I hope you'll visit us there soon. Anyone who might miss listening to me rant can always check out http://www.jonmarquis.com See you in the interwebs!

Nah Ctina, he's not gone, he's an unfinished symphony ;-)
Hi fony! all well with you??

Well, that's it then. It has been announced that McNab is planning to vote Conservative at the next general election. A bunch of Old Etonian half wits who just want the top jobs for no discernable reason, with no trace of experience or skill between them it's a terrifying prospect. And people are stupid enough to vote for them, including, it seems, our working class squaddie foundling. Oh the corrupting influence of fame and fortune, the distortion of perspective it brings. Probably no coincidence that the paper he is a columnist for also supports that bunch of work-shy toffs, couldn't contemplate the loss of income should he remain true to his roots, or even common sense. Will still read his books though, only buying used from now on, hah! that's cost ya already! Unless of course Nick Stone morphs into some kind of Martini quaffing, tuxedo wearing, babe magnet, now that the author has joined the ranks of pseudo toffery; sad that.
