Good luck, take care and stay safe... 'til sooner... :o)

Hey Buddy, where are you going?! =(
Nice link you've given, really! :) Only that I don't understand much the pic in the "Combat Survival Phase" page, http://www.geocities.com/ specialairservice22nd/endu9.jpg <This is a picture of an SAS candidate neutrelizing his guard. THis picture has not been edited or slowed down by any means. This shows the speed and efficiency of every SAS candidate.>
Actually what I see is just a blur, and a person on the floor (looks like an AK47 on his chest.)! Anyone can please give more details? :)
>>By Deusrexmachina (Sunday, 4 Jan 2004 18:08)
Yes, nice pictures - if you don't like army pictures they're even beautiful from an artistic point of view. That 'blur' Deus, is the SAS (candidate), a blur because of the famous Speed..

Does anyone know what happened to the 11. Dec AM-interview by Ink Magazine? I wasn't able to find it at their website....
>>By ortlieb (Monday, 5 Jan 2004 00:11)
Ohman, Ortlieb! Now I'm bummed! I completely forgot to copy and save what they had on their website!
>>By am-i-binned (Monday, 5 Jan 2004 02:26)
Yeah, can see it's a fast action captured on film (aka "blur"), what I don't know is what happened before the pic was shot!...
>>By Deusrexmachina (Monday, 5 Jan 2004 04:29)
Harping back a few pages, takes me a while to catch up!
My desert island.... Two celebrity men..... One non-celeb woman..... My choice of men would be, Billy Connolly (just so he can do the swiss army gag over and over again until he's sick of it!!) and Mac from the survival secrets show, he'd be very useful. Woman? Well how on earth will I keep AM from trying to escape without the help of the other half of CR's girls! There's only so many latex gloves one girl can manage. (See survival can also be used as handy water carriers!!)
>>By Bethan (Monday, 5 Jan 2004 09:54)
Hi this is my first post on here after recently stumbling across the site. I have read the first 35-40 pages but realised that I’d never catch up so skipped to the end.
I've read in this order Bravo Two Zero Liberation Day Immediate Action Firewall Last Light Remote Control
Also Chris Ryan The One That Got Away, Ryan’s Land of Fire and Michael Asher’s The Real B20(which I didn’t really enjoy)
I'm currently reading Crisis Four and have Dark Winter to read too, I just wanted to see what peoples opinions on Dark Winter are compared with his other books.
>>By Psicosis (Monday, 5 Jan 2004 11:13)
Harping back yet again, to the soldier 5 conspiracy, or not. Amazon are actually taking pre-orders for it (UK based not com, english not japanese!) and it's out next month not March as first thought. My order's in.
Psicosis we won't spoil Dark Winter for you, don't read the bits in black boxes! What's your favourite McNab book? (Mine's Immediate Action, just in case you're actually interested).
>>By Bethan (Monday, 5 Jan 2004 12:05)
Damn maybe shouldn't have posted the amazon bit, my book will disappear now!!!!!
>>By Bethan (Monday, 5 Jan 2004 12:05)
Or YOU will Bethan ;o) Maybe one advice: don't send the the money in advance!! And let me take the opportunity fast to say hi, welcome back, had a nice break?
Hi Psicosis, if you like Andy's other books (and I guess you do since you've read/are reading them all) than you must definitely read Dark Winter. There may be some points that were received negative, but I think a lot more positive points !! But I guess you really have to find out for yourself.. so read! :o) Nice to see you post after just reading. Our boards (ahem, at least the posters who fit the shoe) resolution for 2004: be extra friendly to new posters :o)
>>By Lynn (Monday, 5 Jan 2004 12:18)
Hi, My Favourite Mcnab book is Liberation Day, but have enjoyed them all. I’ve also pre ordered Soldier 5
>>By Psicosis (Monday, 5 Jan 2004 12:43)
Oh Psicosis, you're in trouble now.
am-i-binned is gonna go medieval on you for not reading the AM fictions in sequential order!! *LOL*
>>By ortlieb (Monday, 5 Jan 2004 14:16)
Hey there now, Ortlieb! It’s you who’s in BIG trouble! “medieval”?!? You sayin’ I’m ancient?!? Grrrrrr!
Welcome, Psichosis... Don’t pay no neverminds to Ortlieb! He’s just a cwazy young pup! Good job being well read in AM, albeit out of sequence. Anyway, you can always go chronological when you re-read them (as we all eventually seem to do). ;o) And in keeping with SOPs for all new F Troop inductees (as you may have noticed in the first 30-40 pgs), we tend to ask: How did you happen to stumble upon us? And what is your favourite book so far?
Sheesh, Bethan and Lynn… Should Psichosis and I be worried?!? I preordered "Soldier Five" from Amazon UK on December 29. I thought the problem Saxon was having was cuz he was looking for "5" rather than "Five" but, come to think of it, we haven't seen hide nor hair of Saxon since then.....
Oh-no! Maybe there really IS more to it...
De-de-de-de De-de-de-de (theme music from The Twilight Zone)
Yeah, okay, okay... so I know I can't carry a tune to save my life, but… uh-oh... poor choice of words maybe?
>>By am-i-binned (Monday, 5 Jan 2004 15:40)
Oooops! Apologies, Psicosis! Just realized I misspelled your name... :o( (was so busy keeping the y outta there, I let the h slip right by me!)
>>By am-i-binned (Monday, 5 Jan 2004 15:45)
Mmmm, you got me thinking now AIB - Saxon pronounced he was leaving long time before he posted about the website disappearing...mmm... maybe it wasn't Saxon who was posting after all.... maybe he'd already disappeared before that... I could say something personal here..but I won't :o)
>>By Lynn (Monday, 5 Jan 2004 15:58)
Well I've tied a sturdy rope around my waist, I look like I'm disappearing do me a favour and grab the end of it, cheers, I'll drag you into the black hole with me!!
>>By Bethan (Monday, 5 Jan 2004 16:58)
Uhm... don't happen to have AM secured to that rope as well, do you, Bethan? If so, black hole, here we come!!!!! ;o)
>>By am-i-binned (Monday, 5 Jan 2004 17:01)
Has anyone heard of the AM book called : "Manipulation" or am I having visions here. I just found this title on the net, but maybe it's one of his books translated in french or whatever. The only weird thing is, that the book is no longer available..........how strange..
>>By borisette (Monday, 5 Jan 2004 18:29)
Never heard of that one, Borisette. Where did you find it?
>>By am-i-binned (Monday, 5 Jan 2004 19:23)

>>By cavemole (Monday, 5 Jan 2004 21:29)
Hello guys, I'm back after having been away for a few days. Watched Bravo Two Zero last night on DVD when got home..and for old time's sake may well dig out my copy and have a good read today. Hope everyone's ok...and have recovered from the festive season! Tabby
>>By TabariGoddess (Tuesday, 6 Jan 2004 09:34)
Oh...and I forgot to ask who had read "Last Light"..just about to read it and wondered if anyone knew anything about Nick Stone? Tabby
>>By TabariGoddess (Tuesday, 6 Jan 2004 09:36)
I stayed out past my bedtime on Sunday and missed all but the last bit of SAS Survival Secrets. At one stage I did see a slender t-shirted guy looking rather pleased with himself stood on some rocks... I have this theory it was a climber...Shane Ohly, I reckon...but in the absence of any recorded evidence I fear I may have been dreaming...
>>By bikergirl (Tuesday, 6 Jan 2004 09:36)
No, you were right bikergirl...it was Shane..oh yeah... SAS Survival Secrets was looking good, and our Eddie seems to have undergone a makeover! Methinks the stylists have been at him!
>>By TabariGoddess (Tuesday, 6 Jan 2004 09:55)
Tabby...thanks for the info re Shane...will have to get a recording now to see him in action (I'm hoping he was...) and to check out Eddie's make-over...LOL. I only managed to catch the end...from the 'banjo' bit (ukelele surely...)
Beth...I've pre-ordered 'that' book...don't want to say it in case I start to disappear too...I've clipped onto your rope and applied a liberal amount of superglue to me bum...I'm staying. I think the 'poofing' has to do with backstage prompting...Nutter was nudged and Saxon was told to go poke around...now both are classified as 'unfinished symphonies' as mg so eloquently puts it...
Psicosis...I've just read DW (closely preceded by a reverse chronological re-read of all the other Nick Stone books). I knew what was going to happen (not from this board I hasten to add...)...I didn't want it to...it still left me shocked and rather subdued (I told everyone I was tired...NOT emotional...LOL). BTW...every time I read your name I keep thinking of the infection caused by Chlamydia psittaci...ummmm sorry!
cavemole...persevere with LD...if only for the shower hats...sheer brilliance Mr McNab...
>>By bikergirl (Tuesday, 6 Jan 2004 12:01)
Not just the shower hats, the keeping reversed and parked. I'm giggling now. Sad but true. Good job I'm on my own in the lab!!
Maybe mg has made this black hole seeing as most of us have pre-ordered soldier 5 so we'll all disappear and he doesn't have to keep finding webspace for us..... The conspiracy continues...
SAS secrets - I agree with Eddie's makeover, maybe he's been on the slim fast a la our Ryan. But why oh why did he put enough cam cream on one eye to sink a ship and ignore the other one, that bugged me for the whole programme. One black eye, one normal. Maybe it's a highly secretive military tactic.
>>By Bethan (Tuesday, 6 Jan 2004 14:12)
Mmmm, anyone heard of MG lately ??? ;o)
>>By Lynn (Tuesday, 6 Jan 2004 14:17)
Following up on the B.A.B.E.S. trend, here's a transcript from the court-scene in the movie "Airplane 2: The Sequel". It always cracks me up:
Witness: "I flew with Striker during the war. I'll never forget the night we bombed Macho Grande. Striker was the squadron leader. He brought us in real low. But he couldn't handle it." Lawyer: "Buddy couldn't handle it? Was Buddy one of your crew?" Witness: "Right. Buddy was the bombardier. But it was Striker who couldn't handle it. And he went to pieces." Lawyer: "Andy went to pieces?" Witness: "NO! Andy was the navigator, he was all right. Buddy went to pieces. It was awful how he came unglued." Lawyer: "Howie came unglued?" Witness: "Oh no, Howie was a rock. The best tail gunner in the outfit. Buddy came unglued." Lawyer: "And he bailed out?" Witness: "No, Andy hung tough. Buddy bailed out. How we survived was a miracle." Lawyer: "Then Howie survived?" Witness: "No 'fraid not. We lost Howie the next day." Lawyer: "Over Macho Grande?" Witness: "No I don't think I'll ever get over Macho Grande!"
Hehehe..... by the way, the names are totally coincidental.
>>By ortlieb (Tuesday, 6 Jan 2004 14:43)
Ohman, Ortlieb! If that sketch doesn't bring Saxon back, nothing will! (him being a fan of Abbott & Costello and all)...
