Does that mean if 45% of his readers are female i'm now a woman, oh yeah right on finally i can wear that sequin pink number with minola blanik heels and the cute handbag i had from new York hahaha...Who says us Brits dont have a sense of humour.

Here's a test of everyone's sense of humour: http://www.newsday.com/news/nationworld/world/ny-wobadr094492447oct31,0,5590357,print.story? coll=ny-worldnews-headlines If you can read that article and still delude yourselves into thinking the military/intelligence community is run by sane people with triple-digit-IQs, I want to buy some of your weed. Really. Hook me up.

Hmmm....
Individual delusions aside, Jon, "some former military intelligence soldiers" (my personal faves!) are intelligent and do know the score... but, then again, is that maybe why they are "former"?
"Army Col. Samuel Rob...and the Defense Department say the prison system performs satisfactorily in freeing innocents and letting military investigators focus on prisoners who really are part of terrorist networks. Badr and others -- including some former military intelligence soldiers who served in Guantanamo and Afghanistan -- emphatically disagree."

The SpecialOperationsWar group Yahoo had a nice post, I'd like to copy it here for any non-members that are interested.
========= 12 Step Program for the Military ==========
1. I am in the military , I have a problem. This is the first step to recovery...
2. Speech: -Time should never begin with a zero or end in a hundred, it is not 0530 or 1400 it is 5:30 in the morning (AKA God-awful early). -Words like deck, rack, and "PT" will get you weird looks; floor, bed, work out, get used to it. -"F *ck" cannot be used to -replace whatever word you can't think of right now, try "um". -Grunting is not talking. -It's a phone, not a radio, conversations on a phone do not end in "out" -People will not know what you are talking about if you tell them you are coming from Camp Lejeune with the MWSS platoon or that you spent a deployment in the OCAC
3. Style: -Do not put creases in your jeans. -Do not put creases on the front of your dress shirts. -A horseshoe cut looks dumb, not motivating. -A high and tight looks really dumb as well. -So does a low reg, but not as bad. -A hat indoors does not make you a bad person, it makes you like the rest of the world. -you do not have to wear a belt ALL the time.
4. Women: -Air Force girls are easy, very easy, not all women are this easy and will probably punch you in the nuts if you treat them like Air Force girls. -Being divorced twice by the time you are 23 is not normal, neither are 6 month marriages, even if it is your first. -Marrying a girl so that you can move out of the barracks does not make "financial sense", it makes you a retard.
5. Personal accomplishments: -In the real world, being able to do pushups will not make you good at your job. -Most people will be slightly disturbed by you if you tell them about people you have killed or seen die. -How much pain you can take is not a personal accomplishment. -The time you got really drunk and passed the sobriety test anyway is also not a personal accomplishment.
6. Drinking: -In the real world, being drunk before 5pm will get you an intervention, not a "good for you" -That time you drank a 5th of Jaeger and pissed in your closet is not a conversation starter. -That time you went to the combat life saver school and practiced giving vodka iv's will also not be a good conversation starter
6. Bodily functions: -Farting on your co-workers and then giggling while you run away may be viewed as "unprofessional". -The size of the dump you took yesterday will not be funny no matter how big it was, how much it burned, or how much it smelled. -You can't make fun of someone for being sick, no matter how funny it is
-VD will also not be funny
7. The human body: -Most people will not want to hear about your balls. Odd as that may seem, it's true.
8. Spending habits: -One day, you will have to pay bills -Buying a $30,000 car on a $16,000 a year salary is a really bad idea. -Spending money on video games instead of on diapers makes you a fool. -One day you will need health insurance
9. Interacting with civilians (AKA YOU): -Making fun of your neighbor to his face for being fat will not be normal.
10. Real jobs: -They really can fire you. -On the flip side you really can quit. -Screaming at the people that work for you will not be normal, remember they really can quit too. -Taking naps at work will not be acceptable. -Remember 9-5 not 0530 to 1800
11. The Law: -Non-judicial punishment does not exist and will not save you from prison. -Your workplace unlike your command can't save you and probably won't, in fact most likely you will fired about 5 minutes after they find out you've been arrested -Even McDonalds does background checks, and "conviction" isn't going to help you get the job -Fighting is not a normal thing and will get you really arrested, not yelled at Monday morning before they ask you if you won.
12. General knowledge: -You can in fact really say what you think about the President in public. -Pain is not weakness leaving the body, it's just pain. -They won't wear anything shiny that tells you they are more important then you are, be polite. -Read the contracts before you sign them, remember what happened the first time.
;-)

>>By Lynn (Tuesday, 8 Nov 2005 22:07)
Dear Cam, and Jon,
haha that got your attention.
Just read your book review(Aggressor) at GML Cam. Thanks very much. I really enjoy your quick snapshots of the books we read... I just got mine so I am starting tonight. Not to kiss butt, but you are an asset to us all Cam. And thanks to J for his website for us all to view. some of us take it for granted, and we should not. He spends countless hours for us to enjoy the extras of the SAS world.
BTW: I quickly read two reviews of the movie Jarhead. One mention, the review in last Fridays, New Dork Times, stated at the very end that the movie, "was a minor war movie about a minor war".
That said, I first thought wow, minor war, how old was this ding-aling.? I wonder if he'd have the cajones to tell Andy that he thinks GW1 was a minor war?
>>By Reighnman (Wednesday, 9 Nov 2005 02:07)
What a nice man! Thanks mate.
Wondering if the Jarhead movie is based on the book of the same title, it is very good. Do you know the synopsis?
I feel a web search coming on.
>>By camban (Wednesday, 9 Nov 2005 12:02)
I owe you a fiver, Reighnman. Cam, I sent email thanking you for review but it got bounced. As to Jarhead...Movie is indeed based on book. Reviews (of the film) have been very mixed. A warning to those looking for a shoot-em-up flick--the story's about Marines WAITING to go into battle, so not much action. As to "minor war..." Maybe that referred to the universally-accepted practise of letting kids too young to order a beer fight our wars for us. "Minor" war, get it. Okay, lame. Bye.
>>By Just Jon (Wednesday, 9 Nov 2005 14:53)
Be interesting to see how they handle the film, as Jon says, the book is about acquiring battle skills then hanging around for months in discomfort waiting to use them. The author says he is pleased with it, should be good. No region 2 DVD yet though.

>>By bravo (Thursday, 10 Nov 2005 23:58)
Welcome to the board, Bravo. We're glad you're here and hope you keep visiting. Andy is indeed less fulla crap than Chris Ryan, and for realizing that you get 25 F-Troop bonus points, which can be redeemed for free beer at any off license as long as you bring a gun with you.

YO DUDES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW IS EVERYONE!!!! been a while but im back. just wanted to ask about the last few mcnab books. i sortof havent had a chance to go buy any new material. whats the lowdown on 'BOY SOLDIER' 'TRAITOR' and 'AGGRESSOR'.
Anybody that responds can you please flork me to let me know my name is CAVEMOLE2.
thanks guys!!
>>By cavemole2 (Friday, 11 Nov 2005 13:41)
Cavemole2: I haven't read the kids' books, but others say they're quite good. Cam posted a review of Aggressor at greymansland.com. I'm holding out for a signed copy (sadly, it may be a long wait), but from what I've heard Aggressor is as good as Andy's earlier stuff. I hope so, as I'm getting tired of dissing him. Other news--Veteran's Day came and went with lots of flags, tears, and leaf-raking, but the outlook for America's vets remains the same. Hear what Disabled American Veterans has to say at: http://www.workingforchange.com/ article.cfm?itemid=19873

Once again, a great cover. Every adolescent needs to see a human being in a rifle scope as part of their regular reading. When are you gonna have the cover with the SAS guy beating his wife, Andy? Or are we editing our violence? Selling war to kids is about as low as one can sink. If Andy's daughter gets caught in a school shooting he may well reconsider the product he's selling.
>>By Just Jon (Wednesday, 16 Nov 2005 03:50)
*shrug*
Doesn't bother me. The Bible's got much worse violence than what I see on that cover.
As for what adolescents should and should not be "sold"..... hell, I grew up watching GIJoe, Knight Rider, The A-Team, MacGyver.......
ok, ok, so MacGyver never *technically* used a gun himself, but shit- the bad guys did.
Who do you think those shows were "sold" to? My grandmother?
pffffft
>>By Majorette (Wednesday, 16 Nov 2005 16:04)
OTT Jon, your choice - if you feel that way. I'm sure there are people who will agree with you though. I'm sure there are lots who do not.
Can't think of anything more inspiring to say at the mo, maybe later.
>>By Lynn (Wednesday, 16 Nov 2005 19:11)
just jon i`m sorry you feel that way about andys books.
i think you should take abig look at the world we live in m8 it`s not all roses and handshakes m8 it`s a world ov hurt kids can watch tele and pick up on violence m8 in fact just by watching the news,,
i think andys a brilliant author he gives us a look into his world....

Jeez, Jon. I trying to see if I should be upset? Now, who's more a right-wing loon-a -tick then me? I mean after all I still believe it was wrong to have SEX in the oval office. I havent read the second book, hell wondering at the rate they are being put out, how much Andy has invested in them. That maybe the bigger issue. I wondering if this maybe more of a Rigby series. I liked Boy Soldier. I guess I have always justified my reading as a fantasy. Even with my brats as there reading level advances. Now there is some outright crap that teens read, but that gets vetted before purchase. Yep, not all that upset, tried, not finding it. I'll decide if a rug-rat gets to read it. I'll even read it first. hahah would have anyway, because I have DIBS! Jon you've met the kiddos, pretty good so far? I do agree though with BRAVO. I am getting a good look at the world in Aggressor. I really like the book folks. We all need to read it, for the fun of the book .Not to critize Andy for this or that. It's just plain fun. Thats what I read for.
BTW: Anyone know what happened to. WWW.MCNABANDYSAS.PROBOARDS57.COM ??? I can't seem to find to find it.
Hello Maj, funny I was thinking just this AM about you!
>>By Reighnman (Wednesday, 16 Nov 2005 23:54)
Arg, after thought: As far as I know, no school shooting has ever accured because of a teen reading a book. Most happened because of cruel and brutal teasing. See thats the America we are all proud of, kids teasing to the point of mental breakdown, not reading a fictionalized book by a washed up SAS hero.
Did I just say washed up? Holy Hanna, will I be in trouble!!!
>>By Reighnman (Thursday, 17 Nov 2005 00:44)
>>"a washed up SAS hero " Heh, thanks for takin' the heat off of me! Now, you all know I exaggerate things, and of course I don't think that a large percentage of kids who become SAS "fans" will end up shooting their classmates. I do hope you all realize, though, that Eric Harris of Columbine-shooting fame dreamed of joining the Marines. He was also obsessed with guns. Why? He and his murder-mate existed in a culture that taught them that being good at violence commands instant respect. Those two guys loved the military more than any of ya'll do, and if you don't believe me you need to research that particular incident. In fact, research virtually any school shooting and you'll see a fascination with military, guns, and violence existed long before the blood was shed. When you equate heroism with mere physical courage and the ability and willingness to kill, you gets what ya pay for. It's all nice when the monsters you create obey orders, not so nice when they go solo. Funny, none of the women here are interested in the extraordinarily-high rates of domestic violence associated with the SAS/Special Forces. I guess in your fantasies you're never the ones getting hurt. Or does supporting our troops include putting up with an occassional black eye..?
>>By Just Jon (Friday, 18 Nov 2005 19:01)
My mates have done a great review of "Jarhead," for those interested: http://ruthlessreviews.com/movies/j/jarhead.html Don't worry, you're not gay.

Just kidding, you're gay.

Hmmm... Or is it sorta like with you, Just Jon -- the way you occasionally leave me feeling pretty battered...?
