Steven Jay Gould

Forum

I knew Steven Jay Gould when he was living in Phoenix, Arizona in 1965. We became friends. He played his guitar and sang in the cool summer nights in the patio of the small apartment block "Patio Royale". He was a down-to-earth person who loved music. He introduced me to
"Missa Luba", a 33 rpm disk of the Catholic Latin Mass
sung Congolese style. I played the record for years, finally
wore it out. We met again a few years later in Ohio. I attended the University of Dayton and he was then studying at Antioch College. My Brother, Stephen John
Foreman loved his company, and spent much of his time there. Steven Jay was instrumental in helping my Brother gain entry at Wittenburg University at Wittenburg, Ohio. Stephen Jay had fine children and a lovely wife. Years and years later I saw his picture on the cover of "Rolling Stone" ; then years and years later I saw him narrate parts of the video series titled, "Baseball". Although I am a Creationist through and through, I admire this man for pouring his heart and his soul into his belief. We was a warm, generous man, and a good friend.
