He has something to say about all of us that we can't say about ourselves. And the best part is that he makes a living doing it.

Spalding was one of those responsible for the re-emergence of story-telling as a contemporary art form. His reflective yet reassuringly grounded work is hailed across the Atlantic, here, as literary genius. He has a way of performing his work in a refreshing non 'neo-bad-navel-gazing-performance-poetic' style that many at the time found it hard to resist. Although he suffers from the immutable Good Old American Pride, he is willing in his 'anti-Vietnam war' way to show the under-belly of his country with all its rippling veins of discontent and malignant moles of delusional grandeur.

while viewing Spalding Grey's performance on IFC, the one that included the Native Indian sweat ceremony . . . I was heavily impressed with the way he described the day with that certain sound he made. . and then sleep.
. . . . it is so true. . . .

I like spalding because he likes skiing. Spalding just got married and I enjoy reading his remarks about this latest adventure he has taken.
