I THINK THAT PSYCHOSIS 4.48 IS ONE OF THE GREATEST PLAYS OF ALL TIME, IT HAS AFFECTED ME LIKE NO OTHER! i BELIEVE THAT KANE HAS A FAR GREATER UNDERSTANDING OF THE INNER WORKINGS OF THE HUMAN MIND THAN MOST PSYCHOLOGISTS SHE IS TRULY INSPIRING.

Kane is by far my favorite modern playwright. She draws on the work of her predecessors to produce plays that far surpasses anything we've ever seen on stage. Her poetry creates worlds that people seldom enter, and it delves deep into the heart of them. My personal favorite of hers is Cleansed, which she apparently felt was her most uplifting play. It challenges director and actor alike to find a way to stage this monstrosity of a play. I find her later plays (Crave and 4.48) theatrically interesting, but also dangerous, in that it may be too easy for a company to simply recite the words, and that's not theater, it's recited poetry.

SARAH KANE AND WHAT SHE WRITES ARE PERFECT IN EVERY WAY... SHE HAS AN ALARMING UNDERSTANDING OF EMOTION AND, DESPITE WHAT PEOPLE SAY, HAS A REAL GRIP ON THE WORLD...SHE WOKE THEATRE UP TO WHAT WAS GOING ON WITHOUT SACRIFICING HER ART..R.I.P A TRUE GENIUS...1971--1999
