Robin McKinley is a wonderful writer. I enjoyed her adventerous books very much. They drew me in and I couldn't put the book down. I have read 4 of her books and loved them all!

Kerianne-
It is great to know of a fellow Mckinley fan :) I only read her when I have time to finish the entire book because, like you said, they draw you in and become impossible to put down. She is one of those great authors who's writing takes possession and the story sort of grows inside of you and becomes tangled with your own life experiences. I can't wait for her next release.

I have only read one of her marvelous books "The BLue Sword" but this is my third time on it. I really do get hooked in and I just wish I could be in such a great adventure!

I first read "The Hero and the Crown" when I was in grade six and it changed my life- literally.
Until I met Aerin and then Harimad-Sol I didn't know that girls could be heros. I'm sure that sounds ludicrous to some of you -but it was in the early eighties and 'Girl Power', 'GI Jane' and 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' were still about twenty years away.
What I love the most about her books however are her characters. I have read thousands of novels- am a pop fiction junkie, and to this day I have yet to meet any character more interesting than hers.
ah,To battle Corlath at the laprun trials or visit Luthe in his moutain home...
In truth, I just wish I had an ounce of her gift so I could descibe fully how much her books have meant to me.

Jezzabell you SIMPLY MUST go and get a copy of Hero and the Crown, (It's the prequal to The Blue Sword)

if you like Robin Mckinley's books you'll like Tamora Pierce books and... i can't think of many other series at the moment... THe Blue Sword is great! it shows confusion of the main character, rather than her knowing all the answers... I've read it like hundreds of times!

Her newest, Sunshine, is awesome. I stayed home from school feigning sickness in order to finish it without interruptions. The ending is perfect and what I always hope for in novels of this type, and i truly hope she writes a follow up.
