Raymond E Fiest is amazing. I really liked the books where he has coupled with Jany Wurts? to write the Empire series. It's unlike any other fantasy I have read. To discuss the books more email me at Istarea@hotmail.com

The new book Talon of the Silver hawk is easily the WORST novel Raymond Feist has written to date. I have been one of his biggest fans for years and I cann hardly begin to describe my disppointment with this first entry in this long awaited series. Seems derivitive and juvenile. I sold my copy and do NOT plan on reading the rest of the series.

I started by reading Silver Thorn, and read the whole book in one day. After that i had to read everthing about these great characters. You start everything with young boys from a backwater town on the edge of the kingdom. You follow there lives, and read as these youngs boys become the greatest of men. Raymond E. Fiest is the one of the greatess writers of fiction ever. He creates worlds, and spins tales of pain, honor, hope and love. Thank you, Mr Fiest. Keeping writing them, and i will kepp reading them.

I totally agree with johnathan,
Hawkboy was way dissapointing. I hated how he dosn't know whats going on. I wanted to know what was going on with Pug and all the good old characters....not a womanizing orphan boy with a grudge.

Raymond Fiest is one of the best story teller of all time. His ability to start telling a story from seemingly nowhere ,and have it in more than one way tie into a story line that always comes back to characters that you know previously is amazing.Just like shadows of a dark queen,At first i really didnt want to read it because of the unknown charecters but he tied it all together very well. I have read all his books and will be patient to see where he is leading to in Talon of the Silver Hawk.

I've just read Jonathon and Emily's messages about Talon Of The Silver Hawk. I really like Raymond Feist's books but I was very disappointed with Murder In LaMut - it's really going fine until about 50 pages before the end. Suddenly it turns into a rather weak and very predictable whodunit and leaves you feeling very frustrated - not at all what I have come to love in Feist's work. The great thing about Feist is the way he really gets into the politics and historical details giving you the impression that he's writing about real worlds and real people. I prefered Silver Hawk. I will read the others in the series.

I have been a Feist fan since reading his first book, Magician, but I have to agree with you DoubleTake, Murder in LaMut is easily Feist's worst, I don't really know what the point of it was as all his other books can be tied together somehow.
If I may, I suggest you read his books in published order, then if you like them, re-read them in chronological order, that's what I've done, and I do that once or twice a year as they're one of my favourite series. It does get harder to do that as he writes more books though.
