R. K. Narayan

Forum

amazing....this gnooks is about books...but it seems to be centred mainly on western writers. There is a wealth of genius in the orient. Rushdie is big enough to be considered western...but there are other luminaries from india, Narayan, Mulk Raj Anand, Khushwant Singh, Arun Joshi...

Narayan's "Waiting for the Mahatma" and "The Guide" are worth reading. He is truly unique.
