Orson Scott Card

I've read all of your Ender series except "Shadow Puppets". I heard that they're making an enders game movie. It will kick ass!

OSC is the best writer Enders game ROCKS!!!!! So does speaker for the dead, xenocide, and children of the mind. All who think otherwise are dumb and have no taste in books. I think that if they make a movie it would rock we have enough technoligy to create the battle room. I was even thinking when i was reading the book i thought it would make a great movie. If they do the i can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I am doing a science project. I want to design an Ender's Board Game. Trivia style. I would like to know if Ender's fans would be interested. Please e-mail me with your comments psx2001dude@hotmail.com

He find the interesting way to explain his wiew on human purpose, and purpose of any other intelligent life.I think that his book is far more than just an ordinary sf story. And the idea of connection of all beings by simmilarity of energy reminded me on some other writer, one who wrote "The fire from within". Different ways of thinking and different terms, but the questions and possible answers are very much alike.

I loved the book, but I was wondering if they were actually going to make it into a movie... I haven't been able to find out.

While I love Ender's Game, and the sequels and parallel novels, what really impresses me about OSC is that he doesn't just do science fiction. Sarah, his biblical account is amazing, so is Lost Boys, which is a modern mystery. I honestly believe that he is a genius.

While Orson Scott Card is in my opinion amongst the most talented and brilliant writers of the last two centuries, saying that anyone who thinks differently is "dumb" is in my opinion a gross misconception..... It is a matter of taste, and calling other people dumb because of their tastes is not only a foolish thing to do, it is also parallel to racism and other such nonsense..... grow up!
However, Ender's game (and the entire series so far, only got to Shadow of the Hegemon yet) do indeed kick the virtual posterior pretty darn hard! KEEP IT COMING, MR CARD!

I must say, of all the SF-sagas I've read, Mr. Scott's saga of Ender takes the grand price (though, I've only read Ender's Game, Speaker For The Dead and half of Xenocide). I'm looking forward to read the rest of Mr. Scott's writings! Great work, keep it coming!!

Thanks for a great experience

his dialogue is the greatest. I am really impressed so far with the 'shadow' trilogy, he hasn't let me down yet.

i like the works of osc but i was sort of disappointed with shadow puppets.i mean it isnt bad but when compared to previous excellence then it was nothing.
i am worried that his future work also might go down just like robert jordan.
because jordan also seems to fizzling out kust like osc by the looks of shadow puppets.
frankly i dunno if there anything more coming from osc or has already come, so let me know u guys.

OK... Orson Scott Card lives in Greensboro North Carolina... i live in Chapel Hill North Carolina... not to far away... I went to this bookshop one day and Card was there signing books... i was like OMG... so since i didnt have a copy of my own((library)) I immediately bought one. and he signed it and my name is Eli and he said: your parents named you after someone who fell over in a chair after they learned that his son was dead" me and the person standing beside me started laughing... so after that he was having a book discussion... and he really is a funny man... if he is ever doing a tour or at a bookstore near you... go there and get a copy signed.
also... Mr. Card told confirmed that a company had bought the rights to make it into a movie... thats all he knew... so there you go... movie rumours confirmed

Well, as everyone here has pretty much said, Card is one of the best authors. I am serious. I read Ender's Game in fourth grade, it changed my life. I read the rest of the Ender books between the rest of fourth grade to fifth. Speaker for the Dead was good too, although I have to admit that once I started Xenocide and Children of the mind it was pretty much all over my head.(I had to have my older brother explain it to me alot.) I also really enjoyed the Bean books. And, the movie is going to be better beyond words!!

>>By Dib   (Sunday, 29 Feb 2004 05:33)

oh my god!!!!!....i burst into tears when i read the first comment......i've only had the chance to read ender's game and speaker for the dead....i have never read anything better...and i read gorgeous amounts of books.....
and the movie.....i think i'll have to move to another country....i bet it won't come to estonia...

however even if i somehow manage to see the film i'll most propably be disappointed... no film can be better than the book itself...

o s card is the best writer by far...
why the he** do i have to live in such a pathetic country...

Hey Guys... I just Finished reading Pastwatch: The Redemption of Christopher Columbus....

It was as good as the Ender series

currently i'm reading Xenocide

>>By bagelboy13   (Wednesday, 28 Apr 2004 01:36)

if you are a history or sci-fi buff... anything except lost boys is good for you...

>>By bagelboy13   (Tuesday, 18 May 2004 00:21)

Man, Shadow of the Hegemon (in the Bean trilogy) is definitaly his best work. I've read the Ender trilogy, the Bean trilogy, and all of his non-Ender books like Crystal City, and I LOVE SOTH.

>>By Beefdip   (Saturday, 11 Sep 2004 14:39)

Has anyone read OSC's The Enchantment? Its quite differen than his others, but I really enjoyed it.

>>By HyacinthGirl   (Wednesday, 15 Sep 2004 22:11)

If they were going to make Ender's Game into a movie, here's how it should be done. FIrst, they should make it into 3 movies. Movie one - Chapters 1 - 5; movie two - Chapters 6 - 10; movie three - Chapters 11 - 15. Then they should make Ender's Shadow into 3 separate movie as well because when read together, I thought that they made the greatest story ever to be told in science fiction literature. They should be computer generated because computer genereated kids can act much better than real kids, I'm sorry to say. (for instance, the kids in Star Wars: Episode One were horrible) That's the way it should be done.

Dearest Beowulf...

I too share your enthusiasm for long sets of novels metamorphing into long sets of movies being splayed out several years worth of time.
But unfortunately Hollywood simply wouldnt dare do anything suchas spread one book out into numberous volumes, for fear of losing an audience (afterall, the Ender series has a huge followers of preteens who though sit through books, wouldnt sit through long movies).
It simply isnt the way others would have it be.

And I must say- there are some child actors that are simply FANTASTIC! To name a few: All the kids in the new Peter Pan, there are a few talents in the Harry Potter movies(though not the lead role), Haley Joel Osment in the Sixth Sense...
but I would never consider Episode one with good children actors (I too thought the boy that played Annakin was a complete abnormality)

Signing off for now....
The Ever Loving Card Fan
