Nathaniel West b. 1888 m. Clida J. Williams born the same year in Sampson County, NC. He is my grandfather, died at 35 during an epidemic in NC. He had 6 boys and 1 died a age 14. He was a farmer and also owned a Sugar Cane Mill. His parents were Winifred "Winnie" Barefoot about 1845 and Silas West b. around 1833 according to the 1870 census.
