Can someone tell me about the book the diviners?

I believe that The Diviners is a story about finding yourself but could Morag be the diviner who divines others to learn about herself....if so, then why not call the book, "the diviner" ?

I am a true fan of Margaret Lawrence. I loved all the books in the manawaka series. My favorite was the Diviners but the Stone Angel was wonderful as well. I love her ability to make her readers feel what she was truely writting about. She inspired me to write, if only i could tell her that.

In The Novel "The Stone Angel" Lottie and Hagar are talking about breaking up the relationship between John and Arlene. Hagar comments to Lottie on the Chick from the junkyard when they were little, Lottie doens't remeber.. Does anyone have any insight as to why Hagar brings this up at this particular time?
