I think james patterson is one of thee most entertaining, memorable, and outstanding authors there is today. The first book I readed from J.P was When the Wind blows and all I can said is that was outstanding. I haven't have the chance to read Four Blind Mice yet but I'm looking forword to it.

A good novelist, yet each book is somewhat similar to the others. Overall, good....

Just finished Jack and Jill which was okay. i find the character Alex Cross rather sentimental, self righteous and a little cloying - a bit too good to be true. Also in this book he wasn't particularly successful. The plot was very disappointing - there didn't seem to be any real point in the lead up to the major crime other than I guess to get everyone in Washington totally alert to the impending danger. But the real problem was the big kill - how did Jack achieve this - we are never told. How did he fire off 6 bullets without anyone seeing him - this was stupidly improbable. And then the clincher - having planned meticulously Jill takes a picture of Jack killing someone - come on, this is just amateurish.

I've read all of the earlier Alex Cross books and the Maximum series - they're fantastic. My son wouldn't read at all a year ago and then I introduced him to JP. He's working his way through the Max series and says that they are amazing. It does not matter what age or gender you are the concensus in this household is keep them coming JP..... Didn't think much of the Cross films though....
