Ladies and Gentlemen of the board, and Lv2!
May I direct your meme-receptors towards zeitgeist.com (particularly "The Movie") should you have broadband and a couple of hours to spare.
Myth-challenging or myth-making? The choice is yours! :))

Congratulations America. A new President. Hopefully a much better President.

Without wanting to tempt l2r into an argument about Obama, you're absolutely right. I'm thrilled about the election result.
>>By Flagg (Thursday, 6 Nov 2008 22:48)
The best man won.......... well done to America on getting it right this time.!
>>By the lady eleanor (Friday, 7 Nov 2008 00:29)
I am overwhelmingly pleased that the USA chose Obama over McCain. Thank you those that voted for him.
I will add though that although McCain is no match for Obama in terms of intellect or charisma he struck me as a decent man. An impression re-inforced by his concession speech which was unusually gracious and fair-minded. What a shame the Republican Party did not choose him over Bush for their 2000 ticket.

Let's wait and see. Note to Osama----stay hidden.

Well you've made your view perfectly clear. Barbarian.

It is time for adults to take over this board. Not only maturity in age, but mentally. We're not going to extoll the virtues of Lennis, nor any other extreme political philosophy....like before. Any takers?? Let's discuss the world's economic challenges....as an idea.
>>By lv2read (Saturday, 6 Dec 2008 04:09)
World economic challenges is a bit broad -- could we narrow it down a bit and start off easy? Like maybe addressing the pros and cons of governments (UK, US, Germany, France, Italy, etc.) getting into the banking business. Intervention or interference? Capitalism's rescue or ruin? Pseudo-socialism, anyone?
>>By wivoutadoubt (Saturday, 6 Dec 2008 04:48)
Excellent suggestion. Maybe narrow it further. Like the pros and cons of open markets, trade agreements between countries with greatly differing wage costs?
>>By lv2read (Saturday, 6 Dec 2008 12:47)
"Maybe narrow it further. Like the pros and cons of open markets, trade agreements between countries with greatly differing wage costs?"
That's a perfect example of lv2bs double-speak! That would be broadening wiv's suggested topic!
How about discussing who the actual beneficiaries of the collapse of the sub-prime mortgage market are? Shiny-suited loan agents and those creating dubious mortgage-backed bonds would be my first stab at it......

You all wii like Obqama up until the time he asserts American will. Pakiwstan is playing with dynamite, and Iran shouldn't take Obama's conciliatory temperament for granted. In an attempt to reach out to all, it would be costly to mistake such for weakness.
I'll reserve judgment.
>>By lv2read (Thursday, 11 Dec 2008 02:48)
LOL. Nope there you go again lv2talkuttercrap I didn't say I liked Obama (or disliked him for that matter), what I said very clearly is that I was pleased the USA voted for him.
As for "asserting American will" I can't decide whether to laugh or cry at such simple-minded crassness... try watching something other than Fox for a worldview sometime lv2beanobjectofridicule.....
>>By planet ear (Friday, 12 Dec 2008 00:44)
utter hyperbole ear.....very transparent. You fool only yourself. Discordanbt music is one thing; discordant logic is quite another. You're pleased that Americans' voted for him yet you don't???:
Only you can connect that nonsense.
>>By lv2read (Friday, 12 Dec 2008 09:23)
LOL. I suppose since are somewhat retarded in appreciation of almost all arguments and positions lv2beconsistentlystupid it might serve some purpose in clarifying.
It is perfectly logical and consistent to say "I am pleased the USA voted for him" whilst simultaneously reserving judgement about his actual performance. I am pleased the USA voted for him because for example it suggests that not all Americans are as racist as yourself. It also suggests that the voters may wish to see a more consensus building approach to international relations. The vote demonstrates that not all Americans share your base Neanderthal tendencies! :))))
Having a discussion with you is frankly rather akin to discussing current affairs with a thirteen year old who has just read a newspaper for the first time.....
>>By planet ear (Friday, 12 Dec 2008 16:42)
Ear, if the shoe fits...... When you progress from a thirteen year old mentality, the world will look differently. Trade your comic books for nespapers I suggest.
Your labels racisi, retarded are things you've had to deal with all your life. Put your dukes down and get help.
>>By lv2read (Friday, 12 Dec 2008 17:11)
I'm sure regular readers will recognize that as the sound lv2 makes on conceding the point :))
>>By planet ear (Friday, 12 Dec 2008 20:05)
You don't know what regular means.
>>By lv2read (Friday, 12 Dec 2008 20:26)
Well in the English colloquial medical sense you seem very regular... it's rather regrettable it's quite so audible though......

Ear, Iran is still out there....a threat?
Hint..psssst. they are the bad guys, unless of course you'd like to see Israel destroyed.
How to disarm Iran IS the question.

Ear...Iran??? Maybe you'd like them to go away and hide, but I don't think so. You've been around too much discordant music. We neeed no more flare ups in that portion of the world.
>>By lv2read (Monday, 15 Dec 2008 21:03)
