By the way has anyone seen Spike Lee's 'Jigaboo' parody? Jigaboo (the word) is many times more insulting than nigger or hoe. Have any of you listened to BLACK gansta rap? It makes Imus sound 'civilized,' if not cultured.

Spike Lee is especially proud of his GIGABOO parody....and HE was pretty quick to criticise Imus. In the famous Tawana Brawley case in NYC approximately 15 years ago, Al Sharpton continued to defend her long AFTER she admitted that she had LIED. Why didn't she lie about black men raping her?? Could it be.......could it be that it plays better in the black community if you accuse a white? Please answer this....no help from the audience now.......prejudice and racism in the black community.......no....never.....anti-semitic speech amoung blacks....you can't be serious.......and on and on and on!!!!! It is about time that we hold blacks to the same standard.....I, for one, intend to do so.

My suggestion is that we will make more prople comfortable with this site if we enforce our own rules. When expletives were used in the past, such language was ignored if it wasn't directed to you, or if it was directed to someone whose views were not parallel with your own. Well, we won't tolerate that anymore, and if you have a problem with that.....you'll be much happer elsewhere.
I won't defend the need for civility. Mature folks realize the importance of politeness. And if suxh needs to be explained...you just won't fit in here anymore.

One hitch, though -- this particular board, by it's very nature, defies moderation because it exists for the precise purpose of addressing controversial subjects. The trick is knowing how to argue intelligently and persuasively, not ignorantly and abusively.
I'm quite certain you want "Jack" to be an active and intellectually challenging board, but I can also tell you, without a doubt, it's an extremely fine line between moderation and censorship. I should know; I'm a moderator myself.
