for a writer who has won the nobel rpize this year, he seems to be forgotten at flork, which is interesting to say the least. and i wish people would say something more than, "He is a really good writer.
talk perhaps, about the silence that cuts through all of his novels, that anonymity and loneliness runs like a constant river through his narratives. Why is it that all the characters that inhabit his novels are characters are silent, shy, figures with stories that are afraid to be heard, but that dreep out into the light tentatively...

Coetzee's writing comes across as passive and simple-yet the topics are not. I agree with your comment Dionysus.
