Don't tell me you have a teacher progressive enough to set 'A People's History of the United States' as a text for a course and you're not even going to bother to read it. What you have in your hands is an amazingly comprehensive history of what the building of the American Empire meant to those whose backs it was built upon, and on whose backs it continues to rest. So please swallow your privilege and Read the Book, because there are some things that you need to know in order to make living your life worthwhile.
