Harper Lee

I thought To Kill a Mockingbird was a wonderful book. This was Harper Lee's first book, and after I read it, I thought, she was born to be an author. There is a movie on it out.

I agree that to kill a mocking bird is a spectacle of modern literature, however it is over rated compared to some books that don't get the accalades they deserve.

it was a great book but looking back on it i hated having to read it. not because it was bad but because of the large amount of the black and white in south theme that schools shovel into my head in three years ive had to read Uncle Tom's Cabin, Black Boy, To Kill a Mocking Bird, and Roll of Thunder Hear my Cry and only the first two have any reall feeling behind them.

I'm in year 9 and am reading it at the moment...it's really good, but also shows how many racist pigs there were in america in the 1930's, as well as the injustice of the courts back then........an innocent man is still a man, whether he is black or white...the whole court case was rigged! anyway, it's a great book

I just finished reading this book for the first time and loved it. I doubt I'd watch the movie though, child actors generally irritate me.

I have just finished reading 'To kill a Mockingbird' and i am studying it for my AS level and i think that it is a great book and is one of my favourites. Can anyone recomend any other books that are like it. I have also seen the film and it is a good adaptation, anyone who is a fan of the book will love it. Gregory peck is great as Atticus.
