A good friend gave me "memoirs of a failed southern lady" a couple of years ago and I have never looked back!I especially love her clear, clipped writingstyle and the humour of course

mike is a dick..limp at that..

florence King is absolutely marvelous. I cannot think of a more curmudgeonous wit nor a writer with such a wonderful barbed pen to skewer the stupid American Public and its woefully useless public officials (miscreants?).

Florence King is my favorite writer. i admire the way she writes, her unique voice, and that she is a misanthrope. i laughed out loud while reading "While Sisterhood was in Flower" and enjoy reading her essays in the National Review

I checked out Confessions Of A Failed Southern Lady at the library a couple of weeks ago, and have read it twice already. I plan on buying a copy to keep very soon. Her In A Jaundiced Eye was great too, but Confessions is the best.
