Almost finished the extra pages we were able to get hold of.. (well, Dean just couldn't resist our "friendly" pressure...)
It's great and if I don't get to read the rest of the book because it won't be published (sure it will be but I have to get rid of some frustration) I think I'm seriously gonna freak out..

Loved this one:
"The lumps in my forhead complemented a deep cut on my left cheek, I looked like Freddie Krueger and John Merrick had fathered me"

Finally worked out the Flork way of life after several attempts! Great to be here - came via literary etc.

>>By Apparently   (Monday, 18 Aug 2003 15:11)

Glad you didn't give up!!

>>By christina   (Monday, 18 Aug 2003 16:45)

Hi Apparently,
Nice to see you here. What do you think of Dean Francis?

>>By Lynn   (Monday, 18 Aug 2003 22:58)

Ahhhh, apparently Apperently (lame..) is tafka Sheba.
That answers my former Q.
So it should be 'nice to see you here again'. What took you so long? :o)

>>By Lynn   (Tuesday, 19 Aug 2003 11:41)

It's quiet over here.... summer holidays are over guys!
How are you all?
Anyone know how Dean is doing? Guess we won't have know if there'd be one smart publisher but I'm afraid he hasn't found that one yet. :o(

>>By Lynn   (Wednesday, 27 Aug 2003 14:07)

Lynn

Got any of those extra pages handy?? I really want to know what happens next. Soooo grateful, smiling nicely, will be your best friend! Enough creeping??? Or would you like more?

>>By Bethan   (Wednesday, 27 Aug 2003 15:01)

Oooh, Bethan, your wheedling is absolutely understandable! After all, that's why we're all so frustrated at the publishing houses right now! We're all hanging for more! For the extra pages, though, I'm guessing that Dean might prefer to share them with you personally. If you go to his website (www.dean-francis.co.uk), there is an email link which makes it very easy to contact Dean directly.... :o)

>>By am-i-binned   (Wednesday, 27 Aug 2003 19:58)

Now see what this stuff is doing to us... Bethan creeping, even willing to do more (just had dinner, got a pile of dishes...all need cleaning). Maybe we should get our health insurance company to push some publiser.. after all, it will be very expencive when we all get stressed up..

>>By Lynn   (Wednesday, 27 Aug 2003 21:30)

Oh.. forgot, anyone know what this feature 'China in your hand' on the dean-francis.co.uk site is supposed to be (or become)?

>>By Lynn   (Wednesday, 27 Aug 2003 22:35)

Cheers AIB I shall do that now!! If I was a publisher I'd have him! Lynn I'll be over to do your dishes later, shall I do a quick tidy round too? Ooh I'm so good or should that be creepy? (But only in a nice way of course I'm not creepy as in aghhh weirdo oddball .......give up!)

>>By Bethan   (Thursday, 28 Aug 2003 10:07)

Oooh, Lynn! I had overlooked "China in Your Hand" -- that looks really interesting too! Good grief! Even more to be frustrated about! I'm gonna have to take up TM or something to settle my nerves...

Ooohmmmm, Ooohmmmm, Ooohmmmm.... Nope! It's not working!

Dean, can you tell us anything more than what's on your website so far?

>>By am-i-binned   (Thursday, 28 Aug 2003 17:45)

FINALLY - IT WORKS !!! Cheers MG....

Well, what can I say? Working has taken a hold of my life, but I must say a big thanks to AIB, Lynn, Christina et al.

Your continued support is much appreciated - please, please, PLEASE keep in touch and don't forget me...I sure won't forget you guys if and when my work is published.

AIB, what more you wanna know? I urge you and anyone reading this to post whatever questions you wish. I'll be 100% honest, although I cannot guarantee a response time due to work commitments - but I'll try my best!
Thank you all again - and please keep posting!

PS. I was chuffed to see the Dean Francis forum on GNOOKS has more postings than J K Rowling's - unfortunately she is still ahead in the earnings table though!!!!!!!

>>By Apparently   (Monday, 1 Sep 2003 23:49)

My question when can I read more???

I must point out this page is beating Chris Ryan too ha ha ha.

One other question what about internet publishing? Quite a few authors have had success with that.

>>By Bethan   (Tuesday, 2 Sep 2003 09:45)

One more question and then I really must get on with some work. Are you still writing that book on Ayrton? Being a Williams girl at heart it would be an interesting read. Really it's time to work now damn it.

>>By Bethan   (Tuesday, 2 Sep 2003 09:47)

Bethan, forgive me but I need an education -- what is a "Williams girl"?

(And Dean, please forgive also, but I think you'll understand why I'm looking still for Hoarwithy....)

Hoarwithy, please send a flork message. Thanks!

>>By am-i-binned   (Saturday, 6 Sep 2003 05:04)

AIB

Williams are a formula one team (the team Ayrton Senna was driving for when he was killed at Imola). And thankfully this year they are finally challenging for the drivers and team championship again!! They are my local team too since I was born and bred literally right next door to them. So that makes me a Williams girl - just don't mention Ferrari!!! See it has nothing to do with anything else on this board ha ha.

>>By Bethan   (Saturday, 6 Sep 2003 16:18)

Aaah, Bethan, but it does! It relates back to one of Dean's books -- so it's very on-topic! Thanks for the explanation. :o)

>>By am-i-binned   (Saturday, 6 Sep 2003 16:57)

Congratulations Apparently, good to see you in poster-world again...
... but I still don't know about the China thing.. oh, wait... check first, than ask.. maybe it's more clear on the site now.
Seeya.

>>By Lynn   (Sunday, 7 Sep 2003 11:18)

Yep, should have checked first. Don't fool us by telling you could not post, you didn't have TIME to post. So a screenplay.... we can play our favorite game here too now... 'who's gonna play Danny' haha.
mmmmm how old is Danny? I do know a nice young football player, very handsome guy.
:o) Lynn

>>By Lynn   (Sunday, 7 Sep 2003 11:26)

Lynn, I too played football (note to AIB - that's real football, not football you play with your hands ;o) VBW LOL ) and i was told ONCE......that I was handsome. But alas, Daniel Perkins is 17 years old, so by the time the script is accepted and put into production (judging by FT - 2015!) it will be an unknown actor....

I'd love to hear your ideas on the alcoholic father and strict coach though...........

>>By Apparently   (Sunday, 7 Sep 2003 21:03)

On no !!! Why unknown?? "My guy" is perfect for the job. He'll be 21 in 2015, excellent for playing a 17 year old (look at the 'highschool' actors from that series BH 90210). We'll keep in touch 'till casting really starts haha.
So you were told ONCE you "WAS" handsome, how 'bout present time? I'll check out the father and coach.

>>By Lynn   (Sunday, 7 Sep 2003 21:44)

Not much to go on with the father and coach right? Are you asking if I would know them what my opinion is of them?

>>By Lynn   (Thursday, 18 Sep 2003 21:46)

sorry... one more.. do you mean his step-father or his abusive alcoholic father ?? (or both?)

>>By Lynn   (Thursday, 18 Sep 2003 21:50)

Looks like this forum is dead!! I posted twice here but see nothing................Dean Francis is dead........long live Dean Francis!!!!!!!!!!!!!

;o) VBW LOL

>>By Apparently   (Tuesday, 23 Dec 2003 18:11)

To: Apparently (with sincere apologies to Monty Python....)

********
A: 'Ello, I wish to register a complaint. Looks like this forum is dead!!

aib: No, no, it's, uh... it's resting.

A: Look, matey, I know a dead forum when I see one, and I'm looking at one right now.

aib: No, no, it's not dead, it's, it's restin'! Remarkable author, Mr. Dean Francis, idn't he, ay? Pity about them clueless publishers!

A: The publishers don't enter into it! If anything, they're the ones what are restin'... their brain cells! -- seein' as they don't know 'ow to use 'em.

aib: (nodding vigorously in understanding agreement!)

A: But where are the posters, eh? It's them what 'aven't been postin'. This forum is deceased, it is bereft of posters, it has run down the curtain and ceased its chatter. This is an ex-forum!

aib: Nononono, no, no! This forum's not dead. The posters are only stunned.

A: Stunned?!?

aib: Yeah! It's the publishers what stunned us! Cos they don't seem to recognize this diamond in the rough. And besides we posters stun easily, major.

A: Um...now look...now look, mate, I've definitely 'ad enough of this. The posters here have definitely ceased chattering.

aib: Sorry, squire, you're right. Uhm... truf is, see we've been pinin'...

A: Pining?

aib: Yeah, and a right terrible case of pinin'! Pinin' for word of Mark Makken! Cos poor Mark's fate is still hangin' in the balance -- between bad guys and bullets and bloodshed and betrayal -- between chapters and between books -- and all at the fickle mercy of merciless publishing agents! Clueless wonders!

A: (now nodding in understanding agreement...)

aib: Oooh, but got good news for you, Apparently! While we might be restin' and stunned and pinin' away, the most important fact is that we're still always here for Dean, always waiting for word of him and always wishing him well -- so we're always especially glad whenever we do hear from him! ;o)

********
With best wishes to you, Apparently, and to everyone else here too, for a wonderful holiday season, and with a heartfelt prayer for health, happiness and fulfilled dreams in the coming year!

As always...
:oD

>>By am-i-binned   (Wednesday, 24 Dec 2003 00:59)

Good one AIB!!
You tell Apparently it's just resting and being stunned etc... !
Mark Makken is right beside Nick Stone in our minds :o)

>>By Lynn   (Friday, 26 Dec 2003 15:10)

Now can somebody lighten me up here with Dean F. How is it that some of ya have allready read some of his book and I haven't!!
That's totally unfair!!

>>By borisette   (Saturday, 27 Dec 2003 00:32)

Hi, Borisette...
Sample chapters of Dean Francis' books Fair Target and Celebrity Status were included on his website but, unfortunately, that site is unavailable at present... :o(

>>By am-i-binned   (Saturday, 27 Dec 2003 05:51)

There is weird doings and happenings to SAS and Intel web sites mentioned on the Andy McNab board.

All the risque sites like The Big Breach have been poof'd from the web yet were there for yonks beforehand. If any one cares to track back through mention of specific articles and like stuff that was Andy related. Well most are now deleted while previous messages and articles remain in situe especially archived stuff at Yahoo. You have no problem finding stuff approved by McNab e.g. chats, booky stuff.
