Anne Rice is by far my favourtie author. My favourite book of hers is Memnoch the Devil. She is deep, imaginative, and all-out inspiring. Her way of writing makes you develop extreme empathy for her all-too human characters. (Especially with her vampires) She has a way of making you believe that there are really Vampires out there...and if it doesn't make you believe,
...It certainly does make you wish.

she wrights good books

memnoch is my favourite too. What I like most about all of the vampire chronicles are the underlying issues about religion. And I think these books are really about human nature. All of our features are being put under a microscope simply because it is written from the perspective of the immortal. Living forever throughout the centuries. How fascinating. It's about good and evil, about guilt, passion and loss. And be carefull what you wish for , because it might come true.

Blackwood Farm I think is my favorite now. I know it doesn't actually have much to do with the Vampire Chronicles, but I couldn't help but to fall in love with Quinn.

I am trying to remember a passage from 'The Vampire Lastate'. I know that it is from the 6th chapter and That it starts out "It had come like something visited upon me from outside..."
I sometimes write down things from books that I feel touch my soul. I really liked that one impatular!! I am had an accident with my dog and the pages were drolled on and ripped. I was hoping that someone who is still reading it or still has their copy could look it up for me. I am only missing one word. The sentince is "Of course it was to ______ but the sky was never quite the same shade of blue again."

I WOULD BE SO GREATFUL FOR ANY HELP!!

you can contact me at Jescee420@hotmail.com

THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH

There is a particular beauty in the way in which she writes which enables the reader to feel as if they live in her world and know her characters; 'Violin' is the best example of this. It will make your heart weep.

For as long as it took me to pick up my first Rice novel, now that I can't put them down she's leaving the series behind for something different. How amazing to be able to read an on going story that is heartbreaking yet hopeful, where it is impossible not to be in love with a character such as Lestat.

Anne Rice is one of my favorite authors also, and i just recently had an "Anne Rice kick" where all i wanted to read were her books. I like how she makes the human race look upon themselves through an immortals eyes. Also i love how she shows us the other side of a vampire's nature. She doesn't percieve them as heartless blood suckers but as a shadow of the human nature. She is the best

I'd suggest Anne Rice's site -- www.annerice.com --

but the order of her Vampire Chronicles is:

Interview with the Vampire
The Vampire Lestat
The Queen of the Damned
The Tale of the Body Thief
Memnoch the Devil
The Vampire Armand
Merrick
Blood and Gold
Blackwood Farm

Anne Rice makes me read with a ferver never experienced with any other author. I just re-read Cry to Heaven...and now I am left feeling this emptiness I can't describe. Anne has the ability to make you completely and utterly fall in love with her characters...so when the book is finished, there is a longing for more...PLEASE DON'T EVER STOP WRITING!!!!!!

I'm in the middle of the vampire lestat right now.

Anne Rice writes the least scary , most hopeful and deepest horror novels I have ever read . How can you not love her existential immortals . Memnoch's cosmology almost made sense of Christianity , and Pandora's quest for truth was enlightening .She has created an entire universe in her books , one that seems eerily correct.

>>By goddog   (Saturday, 15 Nov 2003 07:59)

You cant help but love her stories.

>>By RottenJohnny   (Saturday, 15 Nov 2003 14:54)

i love her books so much

>>By manson_is_sexy   (Thursday, 4 Dec 2003 23:03)

i really love the movie " interview with a vampire" they stuck to the story line quite well

>>By manson_is_sexy   (Saturday, 6 Dec 2003 20:34)

I was once enamoured of Rice's work, but her later pieces are not so special. Blood Canticle was nowhere near the calibre of the first 5 vampire novels and definitely not on par with the witches. I only continued reading Blood Canticle to the end because I figured it had to get better eventually! Lestat's character sudden "evolution" into the hip man about town was just bizarre! Am I the only one who feels this way?

>>By ocilguy   (Thursday, 11 Dec 2003 21:27)

I like the older books more than her newer ones. Iwtv is really something special, very different from Blackwood farm or blood canticle.
And I must confess i don´t read BC, because I´m not interested to read about those witches (i don´t like them at all)....

I just bought " Blackwood farm" . I have never read anything by Anne Rice before. I know I should have started with " interview with a vampire" but this one appealed to me more. Do you think I really should follow the chronology ?

>>By Kara   (Tuesday, 17 Feb 2004 16:18)

The last vampire chroncles book I read was 'The Tale of the body thief', is there more after this?

What is Blackwood farm? Is this more lestat?

>>By silver   (Tuesday, 17 Feb 2004 16:23)

Actually, her trilogy of the Mayfair Witches is one of her more greater accomplishments. You should take the time to read them...she ties in the Talamasca into this series.

Whats up with all the subtle homosexual undertones? Are we to believe all vampires are closet homosexuals?

>>By Satan   (Wednesday, 25 Feb 2004 06:53)

I don't think Anne Rice's vampires are capable of that kind of physical sexuality,as least not in the way that we perceive it. They can transcend that to see the beauty and sensuality of both males and females. They're not all necessarily 'homosexual', they just can appreciate both sexes on a higher level.

>>By ShadowRaine   (Monday, 1 Mar 2004 22:50)

They can´t be homosexuals, because they don´t have sex instincts... Am I wrong?... But yes, they seem to love between males... Have you read Armand? If there was a doubt, it will disapear with this novel...

I like very much Interview with the Vampire, is one of those books that I could read it and read it again... For the movie... Well, telling you that I saw it once per week would help you figure out how much I like it?

Is really Memnoch so good? Because I had read Interview, Lestat, Queen of the, Armand, so... I´m not very sure about reading this book, because now I know what happens next. I love her vamparies chronicles... Has someone read Pandora or Vittorio?...

I don´t like Ramses (the Mummy)...

>>By Kirei Gabrielle   (Friday, 5 Mar 2004 18:27)

I've read Pandora and Vittorio and have to say I was very disappointed. It didn't seem like the quality of writing was as good as in her other works.

>>By ShadowRaine   (Friday, 5 Mar 2004 18:30)

i have read all of her works the ones i like the best are lestat blood and gold Ramses pandora and blackwood farm in short best author ever
