"Lucky" is the most brutal, and honest, account of a rape that I have ever read. I applaud Alice Sebold for managing to tackle such an enourmously emotional and personal subject with such grace.   (Monday, 21 Apr 2003 04:21)

I truly think the lovely bones is one of the most moving books ever written it tackles the "What happens to your loved ones after they died" question so well. I think everyone should read it!!!!!!!!

I'm currently reading the 'Lovely Bones' and it's great, the way it's written is awesome.

I have just finished reading "lucky" and it was one of the best books that i have ever read. It was a very sad memoir and it made me think of the midset of a person and why they would not tell anyone why they were raped.

Try Joyce Carol Oates' We Were the Mulvaneys
When faced with a severe stressful event there is a tendency to be without the necessary coping skills to overcome it (on their own).
Self talk seems to ruin people afterwards.
