The Wisdom of Insecurity changed my life! Best book I ever read. I suggest reading it if you are curious about Zen.

Alan Watts, of Zen Buddhism (who died in 1973) is not the same Alan Watts who wrote about Weather and Sailing in 2001.

I highly recommend his "Joyous Cosmology" , about the Harvard LSD experiments, among other things. I read this book several times before embarking on my first cosmic journey and found it to be quite a useful Baedeker for chemical trips!
