I dont really like william goldman because he wrote the abridged version of a really good book. He thinks that he took out the bad parts but I like the parts he took out.

The Princess Bride was never written by S. Morganstern...S. Morganstern does not even exist--that's what makes this story a masterpiece...that you get so enveloped in "the Good Parts" version, that you eat into the fact that 400 pages were cut out on Florenese history. Stephen King is not doing Buttercup's Baby either...if you look at his website, he sort of laughs at everyone for buying into that.

I think the story was great. After picking up the book, reading it, I really would like to read the original version, I can't to find one. I think some of the interruptions in the book are a bit annoying. I would have appreciated it better if he had it as an endnote or something like that. Don't get me wrong, There are some personal reflections there that I find rather touching but it seems to me that there are parts stripped off there that I may find interesting.

^Sheesh. I should have read more about the background of the book.
