Virgina Woolf is good at seeking the form of novel. Stream consciousness is a typical simble of her good job. Well, what she thought is a new way or a new form to write a novel. While it is the critics' job that combine a novel or a author to a certain "ism". It is clear that many critics thought her works belong to Modernism. While some thought still they related to Realism. Due to the conflicts between the realism and modernism, critics that hold each of the views seems have much to debate. However just like the difference between the two "isms", they more or less have their common points. Also Virgina Woolf 's Mrs Dalloway has both the characteristics of modernism and realism. To this aspects of the problem, not many people pay attention to including the common points of modernism and realism.
