Simply absorbed from first page - this is a fantastic & unusual read - I read so much I am now at the point that I struggle to find new & inventive plots that will hold me & teach me - I used to always finish a bk that was started - Felt it a challenge & assumed would learn at least one thing I didn't know - Am getting older & just don't have the time anymore to give to a commercial or overused story line - there are just too many bks out there that I have to peruse - Findley is one author that I would gladly give more time - Found myself re-reading portions & giving myself the pleasure of mulling over in my mind meanings & subtleties - even left bk to do research on some of the historical vignettes he so aptly wraps in the story line - also delved into life of Jung & Freud more deeply to better follow the novel. Here is an author that not only writes beautiful & compelling dialogue but prompts the reader to increase his knowledge outside of the novel. Am very much looking forward to getting his other bks - This was my first introduction to Findley!

Curious please -- I do not know this author, and a search of Amazon (US and UK) did not yield any further information. What is the book that you're talking about here? What is the subject matter and/or story line?
Thanks!
