>>By Jenn

His whole series is a masterpiece, even Pillars of creation, just because it doesnt follow the same two main characters doesnt mean it doesnt folow the same storyline, or change the message Mr. Goddkind is constantly trying to get across

The Pillars of Creation - Too many inconsistencies. Too many coincidences. Weak story. 550 pages of fluff, maybe 50 pages of content. The characters are unbelievable and not very intelligent. Not on par with Goodkinds early books in this series - not even close. I don't know whether to be happy for you or feel sorry for you if you enjoyed this book.

hm what can i say. terry goodkind is just the greatest. ever. PERIOD. pillars of creation was good...didnt follow the story line but still. i mean...come on. goodkinds a freaking genius. it was still a great story. I for one enjoyed it. but whatever...he's still the best and im absolutely dying for the next book to come out. later.

this is a message for homerinvests i got to say that is plain stupid u wrote, POC was actually very good just like the other ones, its either u dont understand good writing or your just a child who just likes action, POC was a very good book diff, although i must admit i found it odd that terry didn't add Richard or Kalhan but whatever still good and alot of ppl are saying it has nothing to do with the other books.....lol read it again and actually try to understand it and you'll see that it has a hell of a lot to do with the other books and witht he story.

>>By the person

Homerinvests, I admire your proud declaration of your feelings on POC in the face of contrasting opinions. I stand by your statement and hope that the next one isn't as... different.

>>By Bea

His books are the best i have ever read. But does anyone know if or when the next book is coming out???????

>>By sunshine carebear

to answer your question sunshine carebear its coming out in 2003 july 21

>>By cute poodle

i would have to agree with "the person" on what he said to "homerinvests", i think not many people give enough credit for Poc, cause it is good and well done.

Over the past 6 years I have been delighted to have the chance to peer into the fabulous world Mr. Goodkind has created. As I anxiously delve into the eighth book, Naked Empire, I feel a fury of excitement at watching the vivid world come to life and the multi-dimensional characters struggle with personal and universal issues. I have read each of the books in the series, except for Naked Empire which I have just begun, four times. I have been a fan of fantasy fiction for countless years and I can honestly say that the Sword of Truth series stands out among them all. Each individual novel in the series has been a wonderfully unique and captivating experience, including Pillars of Creation, which many thought strange because it focused on secondary characters. I disagree with these individuals. I thought the story was intriguing and the new characters well developed. In an effort to keep the trials and tribulations of Kahlan and Richard fresh heading into the seventh novel, I think it was a terrific idea on Terry's part to explore other people and other areas within his richly developed world. In any case, I look forward to many more pleasurable reading experiences in the world of hte Midlands and D'Hara. For now, I'm hard at work delving into Naked Empire.

Okay I have nothing but praise for Terry Goodkind's work but seriously Soul of the Fire was a real let down. I really think it was a waste of time reading so much about some honourless pig called Fitch. But all the other books have been really good.

>>By Istarae

Started reading Pillars of creation and I really have to agree with Homerinvests it sucks. I want to read about Kahlan and Richard. How can you write a novel in a series without the main characters? The writing is good, even the story line is good but I am just disappointed that I am reading a book and not really going any where with the series. If goodkind wants to write about different people then maybe he should start a new series. For now though I want a conclusion to the sword of truth.

>>By Istarae

I am a 14 year old man in illinois. These are the best books i have ever read. I think that Terry should consider making them into movies.

>>By Lupinthethird

Terry Goodkind is one of the best authors I have come across (and I read a lot!!!!). His story lines are truely gripping, and his characterisation is so good that you feel you really do know these people. I cannot put these books down once I start. I think Lupinthethirds idea that they should be made into movies is an excellent one.

>>By spiritwalker

Terry Goodkind is the master of fantasy! his books are so good and so original!! However, i don't think it's possible for them to be made into movies. they're just too long!

>>By Min the Wise

The SOT series is amazing for all of you people who think that pillars of creation is bad and that it had nothing to do with the story, read the ending again, you'll notice that Richard and Kahlan are in the book. And who are you to say it has nothing to do with the series can you say what will hapen in the books to come these events could play a major part in the rest of the story, you have to trust the writer to do what is best for the story and let them write it. When the series is finished everything will fall into place nicely. You can't jundge some thing befor it's finished. I'm just happy some people can apreciate the books for what they really are, amazing writing which has the power to transport the reader into a new world and live through the characters.

Ive jus started reading fantasy and the SOT books are great...I think i'm addicted now.

Oh well jus another addiction.

Chainfire is due out 4th January 2005 in the US :)

>>By Istarae

what is chainfire about its not part of sot series is it? i was under the impression that it is a trilogy. i love the series and think that anybody who loves this one should make sure they try reading the wheel of time series by robert jordan its a long read and a long wait for it to finish but i am addicted to both of them and am eagerly awaitting the next book in both series. well i would appreciate anyone who would give me the inside scoop on chainfire, and if possible when the next sot book is due to come out.
