Can anyone summarize his beliefs on God testing Abraham's faith, rather than obedience, when he asks him to kill his own son, Isaac?

Hey Yeni...
I haven't read the book yet... but i've been thinking about picking up some of Kierkegaard's writings... what book of his did you read? i'll read it asap, and i'll get back to you.
You should also check out... "The Believers" (movie) -the movie has an opinion about what you are asking about. -[i don't know if the movie is right or not]
Without reading Kierkegaard, the only thing i can say is... question who and what 'God' is to him... and question what 'sacrificing' and 'death' really represents. Maybe they are just poetic expressions to something 'more'.
who knows what 'more' is out there?

read "Practice in Christianity" by Kierkegaard. The author considered it the "best" and most Christian thing he ever wrote

I do hope you have read "Fear and Trembling", for it is in that book that you will find what you seek. If you haven't, then I suggest you pick it up, and if you have, well, look again.
