Slyvia Plath was a manic, depressed woman. Her fear of rejection, concerns of dualality and her personal insecurities are all conveyed powerfully through her poems. Her style, evocative imagery and sensual sound techniques all ensure that she will be regarded as one of the best poets of her time.

She was an amazing writer and poet but like so many of the greats she constantly had to fight a battle against herself. all her writing is so expressive and can be identifible to so many readers. ted hughes was a bad man though

what can i say she s obsessed

someone who is going to kill themself doesn't need a reason to do it. it's there from the beginning. sometimes the thought of suicide as a way out is enough to keep them going-- they know that if things get too bad, they have an option.

Regardless of what type of person Slyvia Plath was she was an excellant poet who's poetry should be remembered and cherished. People should not resent her poetry because of what happened to her. Noone knew exactly how she felt so you can't exactly judge her.

Slyvia Plath did not face any Electra complex in her life because her father died when she was of ten years. It is the snag which comes to each mind while going through her poetry. In my opinion, she had an intense complex which she realised by mixing with different men by considering them as her father or father like. Even she deems her husband her father somehow; so it is enough reveal that she was badly captured by Electra complex.

As far as suicidal aspects are concerned, she had somehow faced some tragical incidents in her life; and when the actual contradicted with the ideal, she impelled to commit suicide.

yo sup!

I think she was a very talented woman and it's a shame she didn't let her life go further than she did. She could have become known as a Great American Writer or she could have done even more than she did with her life.

I think her poetry is quite depressing but it is full of true feelings and depth.

I think she's trying to convey a message through her poems using personal imageries. She has been suffering all her life to be a perfectionist at first, then later after marrying Ted Hughes. Her 'suicide' may not be a suicide after all; it's an obligation of ending a life of being misunderstood and taken for granted. Everybody would want to live her life but no one would want to be her; to feel the loss of her dad, to be isolated and alone from her husband, to be ignored by the world. Her poems are her friends, her budddies, her confidants. Its her only valve to relieve her insecurities and fears, and that makes her poems beautiful.

Honestly to me, Ms Plath is just a normal women we meet everyday. But then again, the emotions and her biographical facts played a major role in developing what kind a person she is.Suicidal might not be her intentions totally but then we should emphatise the state she was at that time. Life has been very harsh on her esp. when her loved of a Dad's affections was forced to leave her at a very young age. From here, we can reflect what sort of decision she would make rite everytime rite...? huh so guys, anything else to say? u may email me str8 @ mudtann@yahoo.com.sg
or simply respond via this page. thanks
