Discussion: Simone Beauvoir

I am doing a study on Simone and am looking for the abyss in her life. All I can think of so far that would meet the specific criteria for the project is when she went to America and had to choose between Sartre and Nelson Algren. I'm attempting to find out how this effected her philisophical views, for it was after her journey to America that she released one of her most important and controversial books, The Second Sex, then she won an award on the book based on her experiences, The Mandarines (which I am reading at the moment to see if there is any information that would help). If anyone has any information or web sites I could go to, then that would be helpful.
