Has anybody read Samantha Power´s introduction to the newest edition of Hannah Arendt´s "The Orgins of Totalitarianism"? I expect it is an interesting way of linking Arendt´s sharp analysis of totalitarianism to our times of political turbulence and turmoil....a friend recently mentionend to me that Power in this text oulines a sketch of a theory of the new totalitarianism, that is, religious fundamentalism using terrorism as its foremost means of political action. This we must discuss - in order of getting a better grip one of the great problems of our time, namely the threat of a new kind of (non state) totalitarianism Again: has anybode read Power´s new introduction?
