Salman Rushdie is just another British agent who is assigned to create tension within the islamic world.

I can accure all that the muslim people of IRAN are against Rushdie's works and now what he is up to.

Ya Ali

you do not tink the moslems are very much in word

>>By salar   (Saturday, 25 Jan 2003 12:59)

Salman Rushdie should change his muslim name for he is nothing but a worthless sinner who has been influenced by the corrupt and meaningless Western ideologies. Though, I respect his opinions and disagree with the bannings of his works in Iran and other Islamic nations.

Va Salaam.

There is no question that Salman Rushdie is a well known and respected author in todays world. His books sell millions of copies around the globe. Even his well known "The Satanic Verses" is rich, but not in meaning, in the language that he used. Lets not forget that he once, before "The Satanic Verses", recieved an award from Iran's leader, Ayatollah Khamenei.
For god's sake learn some language before writting views in this website, if u dont know the language, you couldnt have possibly understood the book.

Down with Islamic Republic of Iran, Down with Khamenei, Go to hell khomeini, down with all mollas and Long live Republic of Iran, the future awaits.

>>By Persian   (Saturday, 25 Jan 2003 12:59)

I am a persian so I know what you bastards are doing to the people of Iran, under the name of Islam you brought fear and terror to the life of innocent men, women and children. Any one who talks against the regime must be killed, any one who speaks against the leader must be killed. Do you think people are going to do nothing? One day they will rise, and be afraid, your neighbor knows you are a Hezbollah and he is going to tell others, and they will come after you and people like you. They will get their revenge for 21 years of unjust living in the hell you call Republic. It shall be a bloody scene when this happenes. So return to your fellow countrymen becuase some day there wont be any turning back.

Does any one has any comments about my ideas? please inform me, I would really like to know the idea of Iranian people about their leadership, government and life.

>>By Jarem   (Saturday, 25 Jan 2003 12:59)

I am sorry that my opinions offended you in any sort of way, and I appologise for that. And I'd appreciate it if you do not say those words again. People's opinions are valuble for themselves, and unlike people in Iran I am safe to express my ideas. I would like you to tell me why you think my ideas and beliefs are wrong. Please Armin go back a couple of paragraphs and read my opinions (Jarem) along with (Persia, My Land)'s and (Iran, Keshvare man)'s ideas and opinions and then we will discuss them in a more gentle and less offending way.
Thank you

I think its time someone comment on my ideas.

>>By Jarem   (Saturday, 1 Feb 2003 19:29)

How could u possibly criticize someone without reading his book? Salman Rushdie is an educated man. u can't kill someone because of his opinion on a subject. isn't that dectatorship? u have to give people the opportunity to say what they want. then u by using your brain( if u are not brain-washed like some of these HEZBO ALLAHIES) u make a decision.

don't u think by using F words or cursing u just make a fool out of yourselves. why can't u talk like a human? why can't u explain what u mean?

>>By Farhood   (Wednesday, 12 Feb 2003 00:02)

persian:"salman roshdi yek nokareh tamamayar bood
mesleh kheyli az shomaha!"

english:"salman roshdi was one of "usa goverment men" and served to israel for continue killing palestinian and took his salary from USA&BRITAIN&ISRAEL and i hope you take your salary too!!"

>>By yashar   (Friday, 14 Feb 2003 21:20)

I am very pleased to see my ideas are shared smong other people as well, i would like farhood for that and i also would like to stress on the fact that we should watch our language. I would also like to encourage you people on reading "The Sanatic Verses" which is a very rich book and spreads interesting ideas. As said by farhood, you should not judge a book by its cover, read it, maybe you'll find somewhere in your heart for it.
And yashar, please never try to translate anything in english again.

The only person brilliant enough to explain the brilliance of Salman Rushdie is Mr. Rushdie himself. One of the worlds greatest writers of all time.

>>By Andrew in Regina   (Thursday, 20 Feb 2003 18:49)

I can't write in English so well ,but i study your writes if you were moslem and live in Iran you could be right and safe judge about roshdi ,
if his book has many reader ,it is because my leader ayatollah khomeini say too kill him every where .
And against Andrew i think he(Rushdi) is so fool and stupid because his writtings.
i am an student in iran and think a society can't remain if every one want to say evrey thing he wants(It is actualy logic).

>>By Majid from iran   (Tuesday, 25 Feb 2003 15:20)

i read all the previous comments. i admit i haven't already read the book itself. and i'm not probably going to waste my time doing so.
but i don't call Rushdie bad names . the one who calls him a dog shoud not care about what a dog says or writes!!!
I also dont support killing anyone becouse of expressing their opinon. every one who has a belief knows its a shame to assult a belief. it shows that the belief was strong enough that it could not be opposed by logical debate.
I think the only thing that Rushdie did well was to seperate the Muslims and people of other religions. but i cant let him succeed. i dont wanna pay any more attention to him.
Thanx for reading all this.

I believe Salman Rushdie's book, The Sanatic Verses, has been under a lot of missjudgment. This book is filled with irony. As someone who has read this book I have the right to comment it, I believe "The Sanatic Verses" questions the existance of God more it questions the right of Islam. This is not a new thing, many of our great philosephers and artists were and are this way. Furthermore I can not properly say how disapointed I am in some of my fellow countrymen by reading their comment. Salman Rushdie cannot and shall not be critisized by people who can not even list 2 of his books. Please stop letting others think for you, Think for your self.

Thank You

Salman Rushdie ia an intelligent man,,,,,he made a wise interpretation of Islam,,,,,,and i am dissapointment in the comment of those Iranians bashing Rushdie,,,,,,,maybe some Iranians have forgotten the brutality of the Islamic Republic,,,,,,,,,,,,killing thousands of our youth and depriving our women from their basic human rights,,,,,,,think about that

>>By by Sanaz (from Iran)   (Sunday, 2 Mar 2003 06:00)

I would like to comment on Sanaz's ideas. I wanna show my support for her, what Salman Rushdie ment in his book, "The Sanatic Verses" (my personal interpretation) is that he forshadowed the events that were going to happen in Iran. Which we can all see. Fortunatly I've been out of the system for a couple of years now, but still from where I am, I see the news, hear the stories of pain and suffering. The Islamic Regime of Iran does nothing but harming people. Fortunatly, I believe after Iraq it is Iran's turn, and no matter who comes, it is gonna be better than these rascals. Any how "The Sanatic Verses" is a major accomplishment for Mr. Rushdie and I believe it is among top 50 books ever written. I suggest people try to download it off internet. Thanks for your time.

this is a bit off topic,,,,but i would like to make a comment to the person that signed 'by persian'. i liked ur views, however u made a comment that iran is next in line (after iraq),,,,and i see that coming too but i dont think iranians should have their hopes high and think that whoever replaces the hezbollahs would be better for us,,,,,,,,,,,because if we look at history when the shah left evreryone was happy,,,thinking that someone 'better' would replace him and we all saw what hapened next,,,,the ayatolahs came in the picture. I am hoping for a better future for iran but we iranians should first learn from our mistakes and not just hope for anyone to replace the ayatollahs,,,,but hope for a goverment that will make sense
Sanaz   (Sunday, 9 Mar 2003 15:55)

I gulp anything Rushdie that come my way and I loved his early works. Not saying I dont like the later ones, but the earlier ones were ones that I could identify, ones that blasted with MY rage, dreams, -----------

>>By asha.c   (Saturday, 15 Mar 2003 13:54)

i think that salman rushdie is no.one or nothing.everyone could be a salman rushdie or in fact everyone has a salman rushdie in everytime.it means FEAR .it is necessary that we manage that then we can decided about dead or life.
