Discussion: Ryuunosuke Akutagawa

He was one of the great japanease authors of the 20th century, and his main contribution in japanese contemporary literature is to have succeeded in dissociating life and art, which is confused in japanese culture and in japanese traditional literature. Plus, he's reached almost perfection in his writing, not saying in his style because his style is unique. Akutagawa's literature has 2 major characteristics : 1. it perfectly illustrates the new japanese langage : a "depoeticalised" langage, the new japanese real prose, elaborated by japanese naturalists, and 2. it has continued the work of Mori Ogai and Natsume Sôseki, of dissociating life and litterature or art in general, considering literature as an art and only that...
