Richard Marchinko

Forum

I like his bluntness about getting the job done. Its a very political world we live in. Watching what we do and say is very important. We must not offend anyone and we must conform to the rules of engagement. But at sometime how do we determine the rules need to be changed?
I have learned another perspective on what should be done to ensure one can accomplish the mission but still remain within the guidelines my superiors require. He has a distictive leadership style that I like, unfortunately his experience has confirmed my suspicions as to what happens when you use too much initiative to put your men and the mission first. I look forward to reading more from Richard M.

Well, it was only after a visit to the VA clinic in Santa Barbara that I found the first of the Roague Warrior books, the first I've read that is......Task Force Blue....great so far...I've enjoyed the comical yet accurate descriptions of fleet manuals and procedures... The oh so contrare, comparisons from branch to branch...I'm a former Marine, now with CA ARNG-boy oh boy what a different world...anyway, the I'm looking forward to acquisition of the earlier editions in the series
