Discussion: Peter Nadas

Probably the most significant postwar novel...?

I am currently reading through this book of memories... its not easy, but intriguing in an ethereal way. What do others think of his style? Sometimes it seems excessively wordy - as if hes grasping at something that he cant explain. The critics laud this novel as something of real consequence with comparisons to Proust and Mann... and while I dont disagree, yet, I'm not completely convinced either. But I am still reading :+)
