Discussion: Peter Carey I strongly recommend "Jack Maggs" especially to those who understood the fabulous magic of Dickens' "Great Expectations". The book is quick to read and it gives the fresh look on the Dickensian novel from an Australian postcolonial perspective. However, if you expect the work to be simple contradiction and criticism of the Victorian novel you may be surprised. >>By woland22
