| Discussion: Perec A general comment: there's a chapter towards the middle of LAUM that gives detail about a grand project depict in a painting the apartments in which the novel basically transpires . . . Valene is the painter involved . . .the description is in terms of a Recursive Structure that has a certain name in French letters but I'm not recalling that right now . . .as when I cereal box might show a family on it's front . . .and on the table in the representation on the cereal box, there's a box of the same type of cereal with a similar depiction on the 2nd as on the 1st and there is an infinite regression of sorts . . .anyway . . .I do enjoy the passage quite a lot . . .I've seen the chapter referred to as "The Compendium" by some critics.
