Is there a difference between what is good and what is evil? Can you kill out of love?

I have read this book an infinite number of times, and like all great works of literature it has aroused in me many questions. One of the things I would like to know is the way in which the author perceives himself within the frame of his own story; does the author see himself as Jean Baptiste’s nose? In terms of analogies, I have taken the perfume to be ideology, any ideology or philosophy of life. In this sense, do you find any analogy between Jesus Christ and Jean Baptiste, considering that Christ himself fabricated his own ideology, his own perfume if you will, and was likewise eaten alive by humanity?
