I've just newly discovered Briggs's books and I'm now reading them quite eagerly. I'm not saying they are superb - there are very many flaws - but they have a kind of fresh feeling about them, and I like the style. Wait, I REALLY like the style :)

Dragon Bones and Dragon Blood are the only books I've read for now, and at the moment I'm reading Hobb's Bargain. In the Hurog dualogy, I loved Ward's character, and Oreg was pretty well done too. However, I was quite disappointed by Tisala - she seemed like a much more interesting character in the first book, but in Dragon Blood she seems a lot less sharp, a lot less colourful - and she somehow lacks... personality.

There are a lot of loose threads too - I would like to know more about the second dragon at Hurog, about Wards baby brother, and a couple of other things. I'm still hoping for the third book, although this is supposed to be a dualogy.

But, whatever I've said previously, I still like these books A LOT. Very charming, and I can't stop thinking about them, for some reason :)
